27.5x2.6 is incredibly stable. I might have gone with a 29er for a bit more efficiency but it was unavailable at the time. The XL fits me perfectly at 6'1" with a 150mm dropper bottomed out. The XL now comes with a 175mm dropper which will be too long for most.

It's needed for remove or replace the chain guide. I was thinking of replacing the stock chain guide with one with a bash guard, but haven't purchased the tool.

Poor choice on the 175mm dropper. 150 is perfect for me bottomed out on an XL at 6'1". Prefer DT Swiss wheels with strait pull spokes and torque caps.

Clearance, assuming you would be running the tubes slightly higher in the triple clamps to offset the geometry changes that come with adding 20mm of travel. My head angle went from 66 to 65 after adding 10mm of travel.
