It does sound like an internal motor issue, like a one way bearing or belt slipping. Going forward, a new chain on old sprocket and cassette could slip under power. Typiclly chains and sprockets should be replaced as the same time since they wear at similar rates. Some high mile riders rotate...

I had the same creaking issue in the middle gears and resolved it with a little grease. Take the cassette off and grease the spacer. The spacer is captured, so it's a bit tricky to clean and grease it.

You probably don't want to use your fox 34 at 140. At a minimum, get a 150 air shaft to keep stock geo. Ideally, you want a 36 to deal with the extra weight. You will enjoy it either way and never want to ride anything else.

Pretty there is a circuit to prevent non-shimano batteries. It would likely throw a E022 fault code. If you have a failed battery pack, you could most likely replace the cells.
