    Light weight campaign.

I can see an awful lot of pints being sunk during that conversation! ? In the world of marginal gains, it's interesting to see you the pro peloton cyclists weight has dropped to a super svelte 68kg average, even though they average out so darned tall. This is a rabbit hole to go down and...

    Light weight campaign.

But it's true though, isn't it? The biggest weight in the bike is the motor and battery. Anything else is a tiny weight reduction when compared with that 7 or 8 kg. The biggest weight on the bike is you. I reduced the weight on my bike by 9kg - by reducing my waistline. A much bigger weight...

    Bosch Powertube Battery Charge Management

Not entirely true: The battery for Hope lights has to be connected to the mains after connecting the charger to the battery. The battery management system in the charger needs to read the state of charge before it's connected to the mains. Failure to do this and the battery just doesn't charge...

    Backpack recommendations?

Thanks @knut7 , great review. You say the battery compartment is good for a battery of "around 40cm". The 625Wh Bosch Powertube is 42cm. Is this still within your "around 40" estimate?

    How many converts here?

I thought that peasant shooting was still a big thing in England, especially if they were having a grouse... or did I misread that?

Broken button needs replacing? That'll be 239€ please!

My missus reckons she can mould something out of polymer clay, too. (She'll probably gild and glitter it... )

Broken button needs replacing? That'll be 239€ please!

Yes. Although he's discovered that it's difficult to get his fingers onto the button while on the move. He's a guitarist (if you ever wondered what punk rock stars do after they retire and hit their seventies, now you know), so he has loads of plectrums hanging around. I reckon we can glue a...

Broken button needs replacing? That'll be 239€ please!

Yup. An expensive toy. (Which pissed off its OAP owner, the poor chap. He was already having problems before he crashed because he was trying to conserve his pennies.)

    Broken Button On Handlebar Controller

Thanks for the tip. I'll go look. (The PWX sideswitch is different to the 3050817060)

Broken button needs replacing? That'll be 239€ please!

Yes. It's available for less than that as an internet purchase. The 239€ was the quote from the LBS (straight off their supplier's system). Even at the greatly reduced price of 121€, do you think that's a reasonable price for replacing a 2 cent button?

Broken button needs replacing? That'll be 239€ please!

Just so you get to understand just how expensive our toys are, that's the price for replacing this broken button...

    Broken Button On SideSwitch

One of our group has broken a button on a Yamaha SideSwitch handlebar controller on his Haibike. I have posted some details in the Yamaha motor section. If anyone can help with sourcing spares (rather than the whole SideSwitch) that would be much appreciated. More explanation in the Yamaha...

    Broken Button On Handlebar Controller

One of our crowd has broken the up-button on the handlebar controller during a sudden and unexpected powered demount... The LBS says that there are no spares for this item and that the whole side switch must be replaced. They have quoted 239€ - which I guess will include installation at that...

H screw not set correctly? Easy to check: How to Adjust a Rear Derailleur – Limit Screws & Indexing (Just because it was done by a professional, doesn't mean that they did all the checks properly).

    Bosch Powertube Battery Charge Management

Yes. This is for the new CX Generation 4. It surprised me because companies like Hope (for their lights) are very explicit about the connection/disconnection order. The disconnection sequence is not noted anywhere in the Bosch manual and caused me stress the first time I loaded the battery into...
