Maybe I should change the title to "Keep On Hangin' On"...
I was fully expecting to go into the LBS tomorrow morning and get my deposit back. I'd then decide whether to buy a Cube or a Focus mail order directly from Germany (delivery 3 to 5 days with all models of my size currently in stock)...
The 2020 Thron² has a standard Bosch Powertube. The opening is sized for the 625Wh tube and has a spacer built into the cover for the 500Wh battery. The Powertube drops out of the downtube and is not "built in" as per your bike.
Found this lot doing Bosch batteries on the Gardasee. Maybe they can point you in the right direction.
I was shocked at the 20€/day hire price of the batteries. That would mean that it's probably cheaper buying a brand new battery at the destination and selling it on eBay afterwards! Or...
I think you miss my point: you are eyeballing the centres of the pins to measure to 1/16" with a steel rule. That's a tiny amount to try to do by eye. You can be 1/32" either way and not realise. That's the difference between no stretch and way too much stretch.
That's not how I read the article, starting from the sentence which says:
"Until recently, the team working on the project were having major issues with the storage chamber for the sulfur electrodes failing after a small number of cycles."
The rest of the article and the patent application...
How do you do that so accurately with a 12 inch rule? AIUI, 0.5% elongation is a little less than 1/16". How on earth can you assess that so accurately, guessing the location of the centre of the pins and allowing for parallax errors? ?
I can certainly see how others do it by holding up full...
I was chatting to the owner of a bike shop in Tarifa in September last year. He originally stocked a range of EMTBs with different motors. From this year, he will only be stocking EMTBs with Bosch motors. His opinion was that they had reliability AND service/spares sorted.
Given that part of...
I ordered both our clockwork bikes from the LBS here in our village. The owner measured us up, set saddles, suspension pressures, handlebars etc., for both me and the missus, before we left the shop and has been a joy to deal with for odd bits of maintenance (and advice) for things I can't do...
Well that's the dumb thing: when I have a look around the German discounters' websites, like bike-discount.de, they've got the Cubes in stock for immediate delivery. They've also got the Focus in stock with a delivery of 5 working days. It seems to me that both Cube and Focus are just stocking...
Heard from my LBS this morning to say that my new Jam2 is expected to be delivered either today or Monday/Tuesday next week.
Heard from Focus is Stuttgart to say that they are very sorry but my bike (ordered in September) is not scheduled to be built until the beginning of March 2020.
So, by...
About a quarter of a century ago I used to ride motorbikes. A bunch of us decided it would be a good idea to do a bit of dirt biking to hone our skills on winter roads. About 20 of us did the course at Golding Barn.
The mud and the track were just like the film (not like what's shown on the...
It's ribs and wrists that I seem to be cracking most. Not entirely sure how body armour would improve the situation. I reckon my ribs would still be taking the same pasting
<sigh> I guess are you trying to troll. But just in case you are not understanding the reasoning behind speed restrictions on e-bikes, let's recap because it is possible that you are basing your reasoning for motor support restrictions on e-bikes on your experiences of one shared forest path and...
