Eddie Currents; Who's using this hunk of plus 2.8" rubber to minimize sidewall slices on chunk and rocks?

I think the weight for the 27.5 x 2.8 Eddie Current is a heavier 1455+/- grams. I just ordered one. I tried to use the old Maxxis HR2 2.8 60 Tpi (junk sidewalls) and then the Surly DWs 60 tpi (better, medium sidewall protection). I'm hearing that the ECs 👇 may be the Bee's knees (never did...

Yep, I didn't like 'em...junk! Especially as a heavier rider. Probably can find a local machinist in your area to make aluminum mating bolt. The OEM thrubolt (pin) is good, which is most of the cost. Likely get high-grade 7075 Al for $20-25 per X 6 = $120-150. 💸 Maybe half that much with...

Damnit! New Fox Transfer '25 sticking

Update: ok just two longer 95-100 °F rides after super lubing under the dusk/wiper cap with Slick Honey light grease like she was a rookie porn star....errhh you get the pun, the dropper fix has been fantastic. Literally, just as it is supposed to be our of the box. Thank RustyIron for...

Damnit! New Fox Transfer '25 sticking

Yup. Doesn't work unfortunately. It's still has plenty of Slick Honey from the first lube. The '25 is completely redesigned from all previous versions...likely to copy the OneUp V2. We'll see if it's a one-off or a future looming complaint with other '25 version owners. Update: so, I...

It's not the wireless Neo one. It's the much cheaper $266 USD cable actuated one. But yeah agreed, Fox is gouging for their wireless at $800+ USD. 💸💸💸

Looks like it's plugged into the motor correctly. If it's getting juice to the frame power button it still could be the battery itself or the connections are just bad wires as you're deducing. Sounds definitely frustrating. 😔 While it could be the Bafang M820 motor itself, I'd argue that...

Damnit! New Fox Transfer '25 sticking

I got this first batch Fox Transfer '25 and installed in late June '24. It started sticking in the extension after only a few rides. But was able to remedy with a dab of Slick Honey light grease under the dust collar wiper seal (it unscrews via hand). That seemed to help for another 6 rides or...

If they're made well, less breakdown over time. Plus, both have been around since the late 1800s, just now material sciences allow for strong, lightweight alloys. I have a 3 spd Nexus IGH on my analog beach cruiser since 2010. Other than an oil change, bomb proof. Gearboxes too are known for...

The only e-solution is no rear mech = a light weight 8-spd IGH or ideally a compact gearbox motor. 👊

CEF50 Ride Pics and Vids (only)

All that matters to me really is that I built-up a kick-ass, custom DIYer that's fun and reliable. The CEF50, even with a few OEM misgivings, especially with the small M820-75Nm, is the best bang for the 💸. Plus, I got to bling it up a little--the women appear to like it best!😁 The enduro...

Looks good!👍 So, is your X2 on the Vi frame (air) or V2 frame (coil +)?

So, there's two frame versions: 1) the initial no coil or V1, and 2) the coil + V2 frame. The X2 should work with the latter coil + version. I really want to try the new upgraded RS Vivid, but I have V1 so 😔. Actually, I think some people here tried unsuccessfully the X2 and Kitsuma DB...

That's not too bad. 💸 But keep field testing it out. Can you hit it with a rubber mallet (soft and medium intensity) while mounted on your frame? And before mounting the guard then twist it with your opposite hands back and forth to test torsional strength. My SZZS guard broke when I tried...

I run a 12 spd 11-50T XT drivetrain. It works fine on my Bafang M600-120Nm rig. 👍 I use the Sram XX chain on both AXS and XT with no breakage. Clarification; Also, I personally think a 8-10 spd works a little better...less gearing and thicker chain to handle an E-mtb's higher torque. However...
