Nicely done! Yep, lots of minor mods...upgrades really IMHO.👊
Don't forget overcoming the defective OEM plastic motor cover (all 3 iterations😝) with the latest carbon fiber, over guard, protector, work-around thanks to MrFixit.🍻
Just got it. It's definitely thick-walled and heavier. 1455 g/3.21 lbs 27.5x2.8 rear tire, super gravity casing.
I won't install it for a while. I'm rebuilding my rear wheel with a new Hope Pro 5 hub emtb version to replace my Onyx Classic that has been problematic since I bought it 3 years...
What are the anchor points? That is, so they match up with the two rear bolts and the front downtube mount? Just wondering if you need the strapping at all...
Also, can you take a pic of it detached or is it just a pain to take off once mounted with two-sided tape?
If it is a SZZS original frame, their basic warranty is 3 years protection. Then you should be able to contact Jean or Linda to request a replacement. They will likely want photos and/or video of the break/crack to evaluate your claim.
Or if you want fix it yourself, just purchase a carbon...

Looks awesome! We'll done!💪
I like that RG made the extra length over the BB and up the down tube joint (a vulnerable area). All for only £60/$66.79 excluding shipping (it's light so probably $20-30 to most destination) and VAT. Not bad. I was predicting twice the cost.💸
Hopefully, this...
I'm just doing hard mashing and hucking in chunk and rocky tech here in the desert. That's why I like a 3.0/2.8 setup to just float in sandy washes and grip in kitty litter and bump hop small knar on occasion.🤟
Performance concerns of the ECs are only that the rear knobs grip and sidewalls...
Unfortunately, the HR2 are junk for chunk. My Surly DW 60 TPI have done a lot better 1600 mi with lots of scars that sweat sealant, but I exercise caution in heavy tech.
Hoping that the ECs will be the final tire that will allow unfettered access to raunching through the tough stuff with...
💯 I actually want the heaviest carcass I can get like a DD DH. Sure more unsprung mass, but once you slash a sidewall, you're likely walking back to the trailhead.... tradeoffs!
I think the EC weighs another 150 g over the E -Wild that's why the EC seems appealing traditionally. More overall...
Related to EC's sidewall protection in rocks, how well does the rear hold to cuts and slashes?
My Surly DWs 2.8s were a real b$tch to put on my 44mm carbon rim and a full-round Victtoria foam insert, sun heat up and soapy-foam-water barely helped, which I'm replacing with an EC2.8. Not...
