I've had a really bad week. Killed 2x Di2 deraillers in a week.
Do a stump up the cash for a third one?
I love di2 and it's going to be hard to go back to cable XT but it makes financial sense.
Anyone gone to mechanical shifting from Di2 and what did you think?
Honestly, get one from the shop closest or within an easy drive to you.
You WILL have issues, be it major or not. Having that relationship with your LBS makes things so much easier when things go wrong.
I learned that lesson the hard way, I'm paying for it a bit now.
yes that is the correct Lufftkappe for your purpose.
A coil conversion adds approx. 500g to a fork. I do Vorsprung Smashpot conversions all the time. There is 120ml of Oil added just to the spring side leg alone. The Push ACS3 is slightly lighter however the Vorsprung kit is a better solution...
Service the forks first, likely the air spring has a huge glob of grease in it creating harshness.
The best mod for these 36 E forks is a Vorsprung Lufftkappe, despite the documentation saying it is not compatible, I can assure you it fits and works perfectly. Buy the Fox34 version.
It...
The megneg is excellent, but do not expect to just slap it on and expect miracles, it takes a LOT of back to back trial and error to get perfect.
Initially spring rate will be too soft, depending on how many negative volume bands are installed. Factor in another 20% more spring rate (air...
The Fit4 is a downgrade from FitGrip IMO.
You can upgrade to GRIP2 if you must, the difference is not worth the dollars.
Fitgrip is a very underappreciated damper, it's proving reliable as an old boot, setup is extremely easy and performance is 9/10th's as good as the Grip2 with 4 way...
Or go one better.
Use the "sag" function in linkage pro.
It's a useful tool as you can calculate sag via rider weight, forward/aft rider position, spring rate or any variable of those.
Never have to guess again, however it relies on the bike been available in the software or having the...
I ride both, but predominately flats on the e-mtb, the climbs are way more technical than what I can do on my "Acoustic" bike and hence more dabbing and "oh S**t" moments.
Good alternative if you are on Crank Bro's is the "easy release" cleats which are 10deg release and 6 deg float. It's...
To further emphasis how incredible this new bike is in an engineering sense I'll give you this pearler.
My new 2020 "analogue" bike build, it's for shuttles/park riding pretty much but she will be pedalled every now and then.
17.6kg of unassisted land whale. I almost cried when I put it on...
The old saying goes, Rockshox give you minimum oil, Fox give you none at all.
The amount of times I've dropped the lowers on a new bike and it been bone dry in there is too many to count.
Bushing tolerances have also a lot to be desired. Having them sized and replaced is always a good bet...
Internal or external battery? Firstly check to see if your battery is loose in the holder/cradle. This is a common thing that people believe is CSU noise. Even take the battery out and try to replicate.
Next port of call, take note of Air spring pressure, slowly release air from Air Spring and...
The offset is in the crown, changing the travel will have no effect on the offset. The wheelbase will get larger, the bottom bracket height will rise and the head angle will get slacker, rule of thumb is .5 deg per 10mm increase of axle to crown (or travel) and approx. 2-3mm BB height...
29 x 2.5 Assegai up front and 27.5 x 2.4 Dissector up back best combo I've tried. The dissector is fantastic for dry Aussie conditions but wears incredibly fast. Also get's the BB down to a nice height after the 29 conversion.
Haha good to see old mate cased the same jumps I did.
What got me though is how did he get that downhill bike there? That’s a long walk up with that bike.
For those wondering, it’s in the wynard bike park just down the road (literally) from Queenstown. It’s all on Trailforks. Best track you...
Sure did, freaky bit of nature that one and clever trail work. I’m so glad I did that trail but knowing how high consequence it is now, I would never have done it alone without a phone ever again lol. Way too much to go wrong on that track. I didn’t see another person either.
