Ok I'm back. I rode Queenstown for 7 days, managed to ride everyday and had the time of my life. Managed to have perfect weather besides one day which was at Rude Rock, unfortunately after 2 runs we had to abandon after the winds got to 100kph+
The bike park Is unreal, super fast gondola and...
If you run a black bar and use the shimano rubber bands you can get a very stealth result. Usually first thing I do on a new bikes is a new set of bars but I actually really like the stock bend. Went with a 50mm renthal stem for a tad more reach.
I'm off to Queenstown on Monday, not taking the E-MTB however. Riding bike park for the majority of it but also venturing out on some shuttle days to rude rock etc.
This is a major bucket list item been ticked off. To say I'm excited would be an understatement. I'll let you know what it's like...
I bought mine from interstate and had It shipped to me in Sydney, Considered "ex demo" with 17km on it.
$6k and $150 to ship it. Hard to find a "L" in black however. Good luck.
have a shop or yourself if you feel confident drop the lowers.
Fox's quality control has gone down the toilet lately. Either no oil or way too much slick honey covering the transfer port trapping the air and giving a harsh ride. I will hazard to guess this is the issue.
Then as above, add...
I'm from Sydney but went to Canberra for a weekend to try as many ebikes as I could over a 72 hour period. I got to ride the following.
Rocky Mountain
Base Levo
19 Merida e160 900E
Trek Powerfly LT7 & LT9
Kenevo (2019)
Buy far the RM & Merida were the best of the bunch, the Merida was a $6k...
I cant help playing with things. I swapped the fork from my other bike to the merida,
so now there is a fox36 29er with Vorsprung Coil conversion at 170mm on the front.
29'er front wheel on 2.5 inch assegai
27.5 wheel in back on 2.4 inch dissector
best setup yet, grip is incredible, bottom...
If you want reliable go for bikeyoke revive. Easily bleed the ifp and it will go forever.
Fox transfer is also up there on the reliability stakes. I particularly like the light action when combined with a good bearing type lever (pnw or wolf tooth) the top out thud is pronounced and is a nice...
Yep they are fantastic. Took a ride to get used to them but couldn’t imagine life without them now. Technical climbs are a breeze now. Don’t have to time pedal strokes just spin like a madman and make it up anything.
Hey mate. Thanks. Figured this all out now.
My bike is pretty much what you spelled out.
29er front on 2.5 inch assegai
2.4 inch 27.5 maxxis disector in the back
Dt Swiss 54t ratchet upgrade to the hub
Badass box (lots of issues with this)
155mm cranks.
Spent a lot of time sorting the...
The problem with us Aussie’s and ohlins is that NSD is the only place that can service them. Their turn around and service is fantastic however.
They did a great job on the tune on my s-works demo. Couldn’t be happier.
Suspension is such a personal thing however. Take 2 guys the same weight...
This bought a smile to my face. I've been a user of CC products for a long time, I was one of the first to put a DB IL Coil on a new gen stumpy, then stumpy evo, I snapped a bunch of them in short. In collaboration with CC I was one of the guinea pig/testers for the new shaft and eyelet design...
If your 36 is the ebike version unfortunately 160mm is as much travel you can go.
Reason is, it uses the Fox 34 airshaft which are capped at 160mm.
If it's the normal 36, 27.5+/29 can go to 170mm, the 27.5 can go 180mm.
The e160 works fantastic with a bit more rake, consider running a 29...
Specialized did away with the proprietry shock mounts in 2019, should be your typical eyelet.
it's 230 x 62.5 which isn't exactly a common stroke, knowing specialized a 65mm stroke will work without tyre contact and you could in theory be nearing 190mm rear travel.
Now that the Geo is known you can really see the purpose of this bike, this isn't for going for a leisurely trail ride with your misses sort of bike. Winch your way to the top of the gnarliest descent you know then point it downhill!
Re: the reach, I am not too surprised. I ride a stumpy evo in...
Yes the Z1 is a Rhythm 36.
The fitgrip damper is excellent, only surpassed by Grip2 and only marginally. The setup time for fitgrip is so much easier. The Grip2 damper can be fitted to the rhythm as a direct swap.
