    Racks that actually fit eMTBs!

Man that looks perfect though, holding the wheels both ends. I should ask about exporting!

    Racks that actually fit eMTBs!

Just bought a Yakima Holdup 2 described as fitting bikes up to 29ers, tires 3” wide. My Trek Rail (29/2.6”) has no chance of fitting the wheel clamp over the wheel. It’s also very long, barely touching the rear wheel holder. It was one of the few rated for a good weight (27kg per bike). And...

    Tyre inserts and E-specific tyres

I’ve gone tubeless but wary of the added bike weight. Hmmm.

    Tyre inserts and E-specific tyres

If you run ebike tyres like the Eddy Currents, with the thicker casing and protection would this negate the need to an extent for inserts? I’ve been contemplating cushcore or Vittoria liners, but the Eddys weight nearly 1.5kg in 29/2.6 and with cushcore it would be up near 1,750g. That’s super...

But basically just seeing if it allows for full power if the need arises...

    New Trek Rail 9.9 Custom

OMFG! What an absolute pearler! Did you ride it before the wheel size change rear? Keen to hear your thoughts on the differences. I was thinking of taking my brakes out to 220 up front as well...

Magic that’s what I want. Thanks!

    Trek Rail eMTB mode

Does anyone know about the algorithm for the auto mode? I’m curios if full (turbo) assistance is available, or just somewhere in-between? I ask because with the Giant Yamaha motors, there are 5 assistance levels. In auto mode it fluctuates between Level 2 and Level 4, so full power is never...

Hey guys in the next few weeks my new emtb should arrive! Trek Rail 9.7 grey and black.

I would check your tyres. Even take the wheel off and shake it. Almost every new (decent) bike comes tubeless ready with rim strips pre-installed, but they fit tubes as they usually don't ship with liquid latex in the tyres. It's just a matter of removing the tubes, replacing the valve stems...

    Rail is INNNNNNNN

First roost under a smokey Sydney sky. Thing is mint! Super playful, hops over everything you want, new gen motor quieter, just unreal. Motor is signing off at 27.3km/hr which I guess is better than 25 (would love 32 though!). As some of you know I agonised over bike choice. I couldn't ride...

How many Aussies are there on the forum?

I’m near Hornsby so OMV gets a workout. Also got a mate in Terry’s Hills so we do a few fireroads there. Keen to try the northern beaches with it and Ourimbah when the fires calm down. Also got a fam trip planned to Thredbo in Jan and that’s coming!

    Specialized Turbo Levo 2021

I predict the creo motor will be well compromised and thus not selected. Maybe only in a light XC model but will lack the torque you’d crave from a Levo. I predict a component change and a price rise.

Trek Rail. Just arrived and being assembled now so should be out over the weekend. Took me forever to make a choice, so hopefully it was a good one :)

Invisiframe - Anyone who did it, would you do it again?

I would use it for a carbon frame. Carbon scares me though so I’ve reverted to alloy and just get a $10 kit. I install the adhesive where the cables may rub, on the down tube, and where my bike rack clamps the frame. I can’t otherwise justify the cost on something designed to go off-road (ie get...

    Suspension set-up guides and info

Thanks for all this info, I’ve spent a lot of time watching and learning. Best lesson I got was when riding Thredbo and met up with a bike mechanic. All my bikes previously had come with default fork settings, one of which would place compression somewhere about 1/3 of the way in. I would...

Hey guys in the next few weeks my new emtb should arrive! Trek Rail 9.7 grey and black.

Nice. Just gearing up for my Rail 7. I’m upgrading to full XT groupset, tubeless plus cushcore, saddle, oury grips, and depending on the fork feel may do the RCT3 damper upgrade or try the Push coil conversion.

    Reign E bottom bracket height

Yeah thanks man. I’ve never been this critical in my decision making, but it’s also more than double I’ve ever spent on a bike so I don’t want to have any regrets!

    Reign E bottom bracket height

Yeah see the Trek does have a metal bashguard, chainring is the lowest part of bike other than wheels, and the Bosch has a nice bit of over-run so if you are ratcheting through things you can keep the power on. I'm still contemplating but the Rail is edging at the moment :)
