Is there a Trek (or any brand) light designed for our bikes? There is an additional wires in the down tube presumably for it, so am surprised they’re not promoting a light to plug in!
Sold mine as soon as I got the E. I can’t envisage a single situation that I wouldn’t want assistance for at least some of my riding. I’m riding for fun not fitness.
Do you know the OD of the coil? I'm looking at one with a 52.65mm OD (550lb) or 54.5mm (600lb). From a quick measure I've got around 56mm to play with but not sure if clearance reduces through the travel. (Large frame BTW)
If mine is proper dirty I'll hose it and that's about it. I don't see the point in fully sponge-bathing the thing for cosmetics. I just want to get the dirt away from the moving parts and that's about it. Dry it with a blower, wax the chain, done in 5mins max.
Also please no on that carbon! It...
Right on Rob. I’m digging the smaller battery idea a lot. Also agree on acceptance, I’m only new to emtbs but notice on my local trails that some days the Es outweigh the non-Es in numbers.
I’d love smaller options as well. Cost aside, 95% of my rides I use about 30% of my 625wh battery. I’d rather a 300-ish wh pack and save a kg or two for these rides, regardless of the cost.
Oooohhhhh thank you for this. I was about to research the re:Aktiv as a replacement shock as I thought clearance on the seat tube wouldn’t allow for a coil. Which I’d much prefer! Wonder if I could get a DVO Jade in there?
Also contemplating the fork cartridge upgrade.
I tried quite a few and ended up with the 7. And I have zero regrets even after riding more since. I hesitated about the 29er factor but Trek nailed the geo and it’s super playful yet planted when you need it. Saved me on a couple of gnarly roll-downs that I’m sure smaller wheels would have...
I reckon the Giant one looks the go. Looks like you could slide it in about halfway down. The Bont you still need to insert from fairly high up, hence taping the top tube.
It does sound like it’s in the down tube yes, and the way I did the battery there’s no way it’s that now. It’s solid! The 4 cables can rattle if I slap them so going to silicone them down and see....
Just to update, this didn't fix the rattle. I then checked and the screws holding the battery dock were loose so I tightened those. Still there. I thought maybe it was the internal cables, but suspect it's just the noise of the Bosch Gen4 that reviewers are talking about! I didn't realise this...
It’s a turn of the key and it’s out. 5 seconds. I don’t know the battery cover cost but a new 625wh battery in Oz is $1400 and the bike is $8k so you’re well ahead! The 500w battery with spacer and cover is probably about the same cost.
Yeah ditto, you just need that extra ability on the flat when you can cruise at 'just over' the limiter!
I haven't investigated, but the rotor just houses the magnet which is removable with two rotor screws. The sensor in the rear triangle I haven't looked closely at, not sure if it's...
