Nah I mean my 625wh Rail (longer battery), I wanted to see if I bought a Powerfly 5 for the wife, if I could use that battery in mine too. They said no, diagram says yes.
It’s only a matter of time before it’s hackable. You can still do non-dongle hacks such as sensor on the crank if you have to.
I thought I would want a display but the range display is very helpful. Having a 5-bar readout is one thing but knowing the fairl accurate distance you have to empty...
The different battery capacities should give similar range though. The Brose tends to chew the power more. I went with the Rail and find it a lot more playful than the Levo.
This is invaluable info, thanks. All the bike shops I spoke to said the 500w battery wouldn’t fit the Rail. With this spacer showing the contrary, it means that when shopping for an eBike for the wife, it has to be Trek.
That was I can have a spare on rare 100km outings, but also could shed...
I’m starting to think that Bontrager wheels are not compatible with these. I have the bead at the lowest point in the rim, and am using the valve-last method. Check this out!
I’m convinced they’ve incorrectly stamped a 27.5 as a 29 lol. It’s insane. I’ve tried detergent, I’ve actually given up. My plastic levers won’t do it.
My plastic levers are just bending on this last section. I just can’t do it. Far out! These Bont wheels have a ridiculously shallow center rim channel which probably explains it.
I hear you, I’m in Sydney (north) and the Three Mile monster blaze is about 35km from home. I hope you have a safe trip and that your home is spared (y).
I would say that’s the latest equivalent. Mine’s about 4 years old and I think they’re a little different now. But works a treat, bottle doesn’t shift ever.
Quick update as I've persevered with the rack.
So I managed to wrangle the wheel clamp on by inserting the bike from in front of the rack itself (not easy with 25kg!) then mashing it in. After a short drive to my destination, the clamp could be removed without doing this in reverse, ie in the...
Bontrager (older one) you can switch to be either side exit. With the Camelbak Podium Chill 620ml it JUST fits. I used frame tape to stop it scuffing. You can use the non-insulated one (second pic) 620ml which is a couple of cm shorter if you’re worried.
Not sure if others have found this, but my battery would ever-so-slightly rattle on bumpy action. Just at the lock/catch.
I had to use two of these high density adhesive foam pads to fill the gap but it works an absolute treat. Dead silent and a cheap fix.
I’m not sure if there’s an...
Nice. Yeah I ordered new rubber when I ordered the bike but am pleasantly surprised by the stock XR5s. So much so I’m considering trying the SE5s for something just as good and a little more robust. I ride in dusty conditions and they’re not spinning up at all. Lovely.
Another fail I might add for Yakima. It has a lock for the hitch pin, two locks for the bikes themselves, but they forgot to put a lock on the pivot pin. And so a single 19mm spanner and both bikes with platforms are off. The locks are redundant because of this!
