I was aware of ebike hate / jealousy but I thought opinions were changing

The EMTB scene is still in its infancy so I would expect some kickback but that will taper off no doubt. Humans are so odd! The more 2 things are the same the more people are divided into evangelical tribes on both sides. Ford:Chevy, Iphone:Samsumg, MMA:Boxing, etc etc

Giant Picture Thread, lets see em.

thanks man! Yeah very impressed so far, gives the bike a responsive and rigid feel. Yup EN733 which has an extra layer of Carbon for increased strength and stability.

    Carbon wheelset on an e-bike???

Just the Recons, the Pro's were out of my budget so didn't give them much consideration. From the website: Our Recon Pro rims use a completely new mold design and new manufacturing process that allows the rims to come out of the mold as a finished product (no sanding & painting needed). The...

    Carbon wheelset on an e-bike???

I upgraded to carbon wheels and was very impressed! The way I can best explain it is - the bike just feels so much tighter and wants to go faster on the carbon rims. I put it down to the lateral stiffness and not so much the weight savings. On rough trails, the bike is accurate and predictable...

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

never ridden one - but it all comes down to application anyways - the Assegai looks like a great winter alternative to the Shorty which is a nightmare on dry surfaces. Seems like Maxxis were looking to make the "Goldilocks", a tire that has no major weakness but no real strengths either which...

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

Can't say for 100% certainty but he's a weight nazi and he got it only about a month ago. could of been the DH, I'll check with him and get to the group

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

My riding buddy put one on the front of his 29er "normal" enduro bike and rode it for about 2 weeks before swapping it for a DHF. He said the grip was on par with the DHR but the Assegai felt like dragging an anchor on the climbs. Performs slightly better in the wet than the DHF and held its...

    Big riders club! (100kg/6foot+)

Bent rims! Cracked frames! Suspension blowouts! Mountain biking is a different game for those with Viking genetics or a cupcake addiction. Luckily with the booming Emtb market, big guys and gals are getting out on the trails and having a lot of fun but do face different challenges. Thought the...

    Article Video: Lapierre eZesty Review

Good honest review! Was pretty excited for this bike but I feel my interest slipping. The free play in the drive terrain would drive me nuts! Maybe a faster-engaging hub would help but still far from ideal.

    Etrance bar and stem

Yup, first thing I upgraded on the bike was the bar and stem. Felt the giant bar had too much sweep and narrow, felt like a xc bike to me. Giant specs say the bars are 800m wide , my renthals are 10-20mm wider when I put them side by side. I got the 30mm rise but considering going to 40mm for...
