I had the exact issue with my Trance E+ Pro1, extremely annoying and dangerous. I gave it back to the shop who replaced the controller. No issues since.
Seeing the introduction of significantly lighter EMTB's (sub 20kg) is great! interested to see if the big manufacturers will get onboard by offering parallel bikes lines with less assist and battery.
Will this be the new direction of innovation for EMTB? or just a sub-niche?
My riding is increasingly moving towards DH and with my new EMTB, weigh is becoming less critical-I'm slowly upgrading my rig to reflect this style of riding.
One upgrade I'm curious about is swapping to a DH/dual-crown fork (200mm travel) not so much for the travel but more for the added...
My new hub/rear-wheel (hope pro4) is doing fine but seems I've traded one set of problems for another and I'll admit it's largely my fault. My new wheel was non-boost (142x12) so had to buy an adaptor which offset my chainline in a way that my new Sram1x11 didn't agree with. I'm an amateur...
Sounds like an organized lot, that worked out a system.
I suppose they will now realize that E-bikes are poor currency given they will need to source a charger before they can sell it on and I'm sure well see more anti-theft protection built into bikes. Same thing kind of happened with...
Renthal bars = Awesome!
Renthal Stems = Shit!!!
I don't know why but my renthal stem won't stop slipping on my fork post. Tried various torques and grip agents but slips in every crash or decent knock. never had issues with my other stems. bummer cause they look sick.
I'd go for a 2nd hand set. A lot of people who buy bikes replace the stock wheels, then sell the originals, sometimes with cassette and discs, saving more $$$ if they work with current compentry.
If you're just commuting, you'll also get away with just non-emtb wheels.
Only went up and the street for a test run haha which went well
hub feels crisp, fast engagement and the hub has a loud sharp sound....which I like
Also the lateral wheel flex was considerably less than the giant
Went to ride it this morning and noticed the rear tire was flat o_Oo_O
Still...
Finally got the new wheel rock n rolling. Also replaced the 1x12 system with a sram gx 1x11 and new px1 chain. Thought the smaller gearing would equal less torque on the hub in low gear. The new shifter also allows for 5 clicks in single push. I hated the single click.
Also running a maxxis...
EMTB will ruin MTB if it gets so popular that it becomes the majority. If this is the case then we'll see new trail building change in favor of the EMTB with steeper gradient climbs than what most mtb's can handle. Building uphill tracks sub 4-5% average gradient is extremely difficult!!!
Definitely 35mm diameter
I've got a 30mm rise Renthal Fatbar on mine but also paired it with a Renthal 40mm stem which is a more playful/aggressive combo than the long standard stem and bar bent for comfort. Something to consider...
I ride 50:50 emtb:mtb and enjoy them equally
Its a pure feeling riding the ol analog. I like the quiet, the light snappy feeling and sense of reward after a long uphill slog..... and no stress about battery life or possible failures.
Riding my analog improves my emtb riding and vice versa...
The truth is EMTB's do less damage than "normal bikes" in the hands of sensible users which is 99% of the EMTB community. With the added assistance, riders are able to keep a smoother pace when climbing on wider / softer tires, which reduces the possibility of skidding. Normal bikers need to...
Holding up but I'm still pedaling on egg shells so to speak. I just don't have the confidence to ride long distances or throw down the power on pinch climbs. Also getting the occasional "clunk" sound too which has me nervous.
New wheel turned up today but not the chainwhip and tubeless kit I...
I've ordered a Hope complete rear wheel with the Pro 4 hub. Happy to be the pigeon in the mine and see how a strong standard enduro hub performs on an E bike. Should be in my hot little hands this time tomorrow. I'll be giving it a proper thrashing in the next few weeks and will do a complete...
