I have Maguras and ran a Wolftooth but I found the matchmaker system a bit awkward as the position of the lever is fixed to the angle of the brake lever. The reach was a bit far for my thumb. Srams system is much better.
I now run a Funn remote. It's lower and not as far of a reach. Mounts to...
If you've ridden it, liked it, then I'd go for it mate. Worth checking what kind of support the company has though. Are they from a shop or online order only? But still, for the money, it's going to be tough to beat.
LED signals there is a battery issue which has 2 main causes:
Fitment: The battery isn't properly aligned and snug. Battery error from Trance? - EMTB Forums
Dirty contact points: Clean the pins and insert points with a cloth and isopropyl alcohol
If the problem persists then you'll need to...
Gutted! Hope it gets sorted.
While you wait for the shop to get back you, it's worth gently cleaning the contact points on the battery and bike with some isopropyl alcohol. Grit and dust could be the culprit here.
Replace! Replace Replace! Seems to be the standard procedure with GiantNZ. I'm not complaining as it does fix the issue but the hippy in me does wonder about the waste.
Tangent: Have you been riding the lockdown? I've done countless laps up Mt.Vic so I'm looking forward to getting back to...
ummm no. For $8k NZD you can get a Giant with top spec Fox suspension with kasmina, Sram XO Eagle drive terrain, Code Brakes carbon cranks, Maxxis 3C tyres. Spend that same $$ on a Levo, you get below-average suspension, bottom spec NX 11speed, house brand tyres and brakes that you normally find...
Hello fellow Wellington Giant owner :)
When I had this issue the RideControl app didn't pick up any faults.
I did find the problem occurred only when I plugged the bike back in immediately after a ride but was fine if waited an hour before plugging it in.
:unsure: I have 3 bikes on Hope Pro4s and they all have a very small amount of play.. one of which has less than 200km on it and one with 2000km+. never had any problems.
Where do you think Pro4s sit on the "well designed " spectrum? I thought they were near the top
I probably should have reworded; a tiny bit of play.
I think people often misdiagnose drive terrain problems when they feel a wiggle in the cassette when the wheel is out of the bike. On the bike, the compression of the skewer sandwich's everything tight
Yup I've run 223mm Galfers front and rear. Easy way to increase the stopping power and the 2mm thickness is great for heat management and general strength. I have found getting the right mount to be tricky between brakes brands. I found the brake easier to match up with my Sram Codes than my...
Deeper diagnosis is needed to give the best advice :) There's always some play in the cassette/driver body and from my experience, skipping comes from other issues, usually from the derailleur not being set up correctly or the chain/cassette being worn. Unless the play is significant, I'd start...
I imagine I'll get a new bike sometime this year but will I run back to Giant dealership? My experience with my bike has been patchy and I've had a mix of issues like the hub failure, electrical gremlins, cracked frame etc etc. All of which was covered under warranty but were frustrating to deal...
@oktc9712
Definitely not normal but could be a quick fix. If you've only done 100kms, then it won't be worn enough to skip.
Can you clarify if it was the hub/pawls skipping (the cassette rotates faster than the hub) or if the chain skips off of the cassette?...very different problems and...

Review: Coil shocks are soo hot right now! The Fox DPS I had on my Giant Trance wasn't a bad shock but with my heavyweight (120kg) the resulting ridiculous PSI I had to run made small bump compliance...
+1 always breaking bikes :)
I guess that's what happens when you're 120kg ex semi-pro motocross racer and ride predominantly expert tracks! As I learn to ride smoother and my mechanic skills improve, I am finding that I'm getting more life out of my bikes. I also make sure I do my research on...
