What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

For the rear, I recommend at least a DD casing. I also found the Maxxterra to roll better than the Maxxgrip as well as last longer. I peeled the side lugs off my Maxxgripp

Dropper post recommendations?! (reliable and strong)

I should have added that I went for a wolf tooth remote. The brand-x remote is 'ok' but not flash

Dropper post recommendations?! (reliable and strong)

I've been on the brand-X since October and am very impressed so far. Very reliable and for the price, it's unbeatable. I even put onemy new non-electric. Thanks for tip @Gary I owe you a pint! :)

Single Click Shift - Yea or Nay???

I hated the single click as well so swapped to a multi-click. No problems after a year

Trance SX E+0 pro Mullet Project

It's your bike and you can what you like :) But I'm willing to bet that it's not going to be any improvement on any type of riding. I've built a mullet bike recently (WIP pic below) and I'm glad I kept the crown height increase down to +10mm, doesn't sound like a lot, but it is on the trail...

Trance SX E+0 pro Mullet Project

Have I got this right? you want to put a 29er and a 180mm fork on your SX Pro!? To say this will "change the geo slightly" is an understatement  You're going to raise the crown by at least 40mm which is going feel drastic on the trail. If you were going to mullet your bike, why not go for...

    Santa Cruz Ebike

Looks like a fun bike! Short chainstays, 27.5, balanced geo and reasonably light too! Now if they could just sort out the price tag... I was laughing at the comments on PinkBike's and Santa Cruz's Instagram this morning. Seems SC has reignited the Ebike hate/debate.:LOL:

    Rear hub freewheeling

Gutted! Giant is pretty good when it comes to after-sales care. Push for an upgraded hub. I've been on a Hope Pro4 for 10 months without issue. How old was your bike when the first hub failed?

    Cracked!!

Correct! I actually fixed it myself in the end. Back up and running now.

    Cracked!!

Not out of the woods yet boys! There is now a sensor fault, the bike won't go more than 20-30m before cutting out. The magnet and sensor are aligned so it must be an internal issue. ....back to the LBS:rolleyes::rolleyes:

What specific ebike parts are worth buying?

Lol good info Gazza but I'll keep my order and won't let my ego keep me from saying "you're right" if it turns to shite. Now go ride your tiny cassette to McD's and get a Happy Meal! ;)

What specific ebike parts are worth buying?

Hello Gary, always good to hear from you mate:) What cheaper/better shimano system are you referring to? Box's new groupsets are not on the market till Feb so I'm guessing you're talking about their previous range. I've ordered the Box 4 8sp so I will be interested to see what the quality is...

    Best brakes for E bike?

    used an adapter as pictured.

What specific ebike parts are worth buying?

Perhaps the only plausible 'e-bike' parts that I've seen are complete drive systems like Box Components 8&9 speed groupsets. Fewer gears means beefier gear, but still has a wide range and a fatter chain. But then again they're not E-bike specific but marketed as ideal for E-bikes.

    Best brakes for E bike?

I run Codes with Trickstuff pads and 223mm Galfer rotors which works great. You get the modulation of the Codes and braking grunt from the tacky pads &oversized rotors

    Strongest current emtb wheels

never heard a bad thing about enve's (except for price) but never ridden them so can't say with 100% confidence. If I had to build the "strongest" wheelset, I'd go with the LightBicycle and ask for extra carbon. The fact I cracked my frame before my wheels says alot

    Strongest current emtb wheels

If you've got Enve's doing nothing, I'd just use those!
