since the Fox EMTB 36 fork uses 34 internals, the longest air shaft they make is 160mm long. For my new bike project, I need at least 170mm travel.
I've been looking at making my own air shift comprising of the 34 plungers with the 170mm shaft of a 36 air shaft assembly as the plunger only has...
This is the dropper for you: Brand-X Ascend Dropper Seatpost (125mm & 150mm) | Chain Reaction Cycles
The Brand-X Dropper is just as good (if not better) than many of the 'fancy brands' but for much less $$
Cable routing is a nightmare on Ebikes but you can reuse the outer cable with new...
To be honest, when I bought the wheels, I didn't think the Hope rear hub was going to last as long as they have. I opened them up recently and they still look fresh!
Shows you that non-Ebike hubs can be just as good as "hybrid" specific offerings.
That's a weird one! I highly highly highly doubt that any significant amount of heat finds its way to the bearings from the rotor or caliper. Even if, the bearings arn't going to fail because of heat. I've finished some rides where the contact area my rotors are blue from heat but the centers...
It's hard to describe or understand bike noises through text! :) Worth checking the health of your chainring and chain. I had a similar issue when I put on a new chain onto an old chainring. The teeth of the chainring were slightly further apart than what the new chain could reach so each pin...
OOOoooff! I can smell a firey internet debate brewing! :p:p
"Rolls as a dog" compared to what exactly? Whats a better rolling all-rounder then?
I'll admit, I just checked the topic of DHF/DHRII rolling resistance on other forums and there's certainly 2 divided camps on each side. Guess that...
I run carbon rims on my bikes. I must say that I'm now fully converted. On top of a 'tighter' feel on the track I love that I no longer need to re-true my wheels every couple of rides. The fact that my wheels have over 3000km of hard riding on them from me at 120kg, says they're up to the...
Still dropping the inside leg in the corners? :p:p
I used to race MX and did few MX2 races back in the day. I remember getting unofficially coached by Stefan Everts who was managing the Factory KTM team at the time. He said if you want to learn how to race in Belgian sand you need to "keep your...
You're not going to notice a world of difference going to 27.5s and you're not going to disappear into a hole! :)
I suggest borrowing/demoing a 27.5 bike to see how it feels, then spend $$
Good video!
Having ridden both for a number of years, I summarise the choice like this:
Clipless: Fast, efficient and precise
Flats: Comfortable, practical and safe
I think everyone should at least give both a decent go and pick their poison
I have only ever run Maxxis but I'd be surprised if there is grippier tyre than the Assegai in the MaxxGrip variant. It's soo grippy that it kinda makes riding boring :)
