@GrandPaBrogan climbing shouldn't be a timed segment when it comes to ebike racing, just the DH as per the Enduro format otherwise it's too hard to police.
Is there a future where EMTB's are raced just like their analog ancestors at the local level?
I thought there would at least be an EMTB category for local Enduro events here in NZ, but no. Which makes make wonder why...is it that the 'Old boys" MTB club doesn't want them? Are not enough people...
I would be that most riders aren't going to notice a difference both are excellent.
But if I had to pick between the 2, I'd go RS as they're easier to setup.
Worth noting that other brands like DVO are gaining some market share. I would say is as good if not better than Fox and RS.
...and to answer the 2nd, the QR release won't work. Some brands of hubs have interchangeable adaptors to run QR, the Giant&Spesh ones, however, do not. Stick to through axels :)
Hi Team!
I thought I'd share my endorsement for the Maxxis Aggressor as a rear tire.
After I killed my DHF in the rear, I wanted something a little faster rolling and better wearing yet durable and able to take the hits. I landed on a 2.5 wide Double Down casing with a dual compound.
I've...
Glad to hear you're enjoying the bike! (y)
I picked up one of these and they rock!

I cant access the video but it bet that is either an alignment issue or the pistons not bouncing back far enough. Your pads will be rubbing on the disc.
Remedy: take the pads out of the caliper, carefully push the pistons back into the caliper (see youtube). Give the pads a quick sanding to...
Yeah, I once forgot to change my activity type on Strava from Ebike to normal bike when I did some laps at my local....and I beat all my DH segments by some margin and even got KOM's. Obviously I deleted the KOM :)
I did a 1:25 on my normal bike which was a smooth run, no pedaling out of...
not quite, but not far off either ;)
The on the E-specific Fox 36 the stanchion walls are thicker and house the internals of a Fox 34. Thicker tubes=increase stiffness, strength, and weight.
Quite annoying as you can't get more than 160mm travel which the longest air shaft offering for Fox...
If it does fit, it's going to be really tight. I had a 2.8 Bontrager on the rear of my bike for a while and I had a few scuffs on the seat stays from the wheel flexing from lateral pressure.
I'd say 2.8 is the max front and rear
Assegai's are great in the mud for an "all-rounder" tyre in the front and rear! Obviously, mud specific tyres like the Shorty are going to be better suited to the wet stuff but crap everywhere else.
Where did you find a 2.6 assegai? is it still a WT(Wide Trail)?
It's incredibly unlikely a spoke magnet will just fall off with some sort of warning. It needs to come loose first which will make a racket and will slide to the end of spoke where it won't get picked up by the sensor causing the bike to cut out.
I think mullets will become increasingly popular and there's no danger of getting one.
One thing you do miss out on with a mullet is the ability to replace a worn rear tire with the front which you replace with a freshy.
