They look interesting, and the neon yellow ‘pro’ version are on offer! Do you know if the end cap clips on or is inserted into the bar like on Ergon grips ? I ask as I have tools stashed in my bars so can’t use the Ergon type unless I take a hacksaw blade to the internal part of the end cap

You dont have to use the bar ends, i use the Muc-Off bar ends with tools in etc.

I didn't say not to bother with Ibuprofen. I did say that it didn't work for me (like Volterol didn't work for you).
I suggested Volterol as an alternative and said why. I have been a long term user of Ibuprofen tablets, so their gel was my first port of call for my knees. I was surprised it did so little for me when the tablets worked so well on my back pain.
How boring life would be if we were all the same.

Some grip advice required which I’m sure you’ll have some experience on and an answer for!

Since breaking bones in my left hand / wrist, after riding for around an hour my fingers literally lock themselves onto my grip, and I have to peel my fingers away and straighten them, which is quite painful, and then once they’re straight I can give them a wiggle and all is fine for the next few minutes until they lock on again. It’s getting worse, not better over time

I’ve changed my suspension to be more forgiving on rough terrain as I usually ride quite firm, which has helped, but I’m sure the right grips might help too. I’m currently using basic deathgrips. The Revolution Suspension grips just seem massively overpriced and the only others that appear to be designed to help alleviate wrist pain are the Ergon GA3’s

My right undamaged hand is absolutely fine

Any ideas ?

Just my 2 cents of input on your issue having read through. I'm not convinced the ga3 will help but like it's been pointed out we are all different. I had a very similar experience ( doesn't sound as severe ) to yours but still started getting very stiff fingers and slight locks after I switched from standard haibike grip ( broke hence why needing new grips ) over to the ga3. Tried every position possible but never actually found a comfortable solution so bought the ga2 which I think are identical to the haibike grip that I got as standard and in just one ride no pain or locks. I don't have a solution for you but definitely get some physio advice and ask for strength exercises for your fingers and other affected areas with pain as this is only affecting your recently ( now still healing ) broken hand it's got to be the cause. Hope you get it sorted or at least a solution that aids the discomfort

Yes the pain and finger seizures are definitely a result of the broken bones and it’s general trail chatter over the course of the ride that causes it. I’ve used GA3’s before and found them really comfortable, but that was when both hands functioned perfectly fine. I didn’t buy them for comfort, purely as I thought the little wings looked quite funky! They got destroyed in the same crash my left hand got destroyed in and I only bought the yellow Deathgrips to replace them as they were on offer for a tenner. Bought them whilst I was not riding, in recovery, and having to fix all the broken & damaged items on the bike, didn’t give the grips much thought as I presumed I’d be fine once the cast came off

I'll be boring and agree with @steve_sordy . Ibuprofen gels can work reasonably well. I've never tried Volterol until a few weeks ago. Someone gave me a tube of the strong stuff and I have to say, it worked really well !!! I did overdose on it as they told me the wrong dosage period, but I did survive and other than several limbs falling off, I've been fine. It contains Diclofenac, which is generally considered considerably stronger than ibuprofen. Depending on your condition, it should in theory be more effective, though depending what your problem is obviously it could be completely ineffective. When I was reading up on it, I believe in some markets the weaker version is actually just ibuprofen gel.

You might do this already ? But just remembered I read somewhere years ago to adjust your break levers across so that your palm is always central to your grips position. In layman's terms this normally means that you will have about an inch gap on your bars from the beginning of your grips to the lever clamp. This is the best illustration I could find that indicates what I mean ( I have mine slightly less and obviously my lever is not in contact with my grips ) but for me this positioning gives best overall feel and support when having to be brake ready. Don't normally offer advice as I'm just a noob but this I swear by lol

I have one the hospital gave me which I can wear during the day whilst working and at night to sleep in, but it also covers the thumb so can’t use it on the bike. I asked my family physio member about wrists braces for riding and she advised they wouldn’t offer too much support against the constant vibrations unfortunately

That advice is for when you are taking the medicine orally. When you use a gel on the skin then obviously it goes nowhere near the stomach.
By "dangerous" it is meant that you are putting yourself at risk of stomach bleeds. Some people are more susceptible than others.

By the way Aspirin which has been in widespread use across the world for over 60 years (maybe longer) can also cause stomach bleeds. I remember reading somewhere that it is worse than Ibuprofen in that respect. So bad in fact that it is doubtful whether it would be passed for general consumption on the current testing regime. The world would be poorer without it though it is a genuine wonder drug.

Sram 220mm rear disc for my Decoy, I know maybe 220 is perhaps overkill for the rear (already have 220 on front) but needed a new disc anyway and run Hope V4 brakes, which while bombproof, aren't the most powerful out there, first ride this morning and really happy!

I know all about the unwanted effects of codeine. My first back problem in 1995 led to me being on codeine for two weeks. At first I thought that not needing to go to the loo was a good thing, I could get by with peeing into a (big diameter) plastic tube that led out of the bed and into a carafe (we have not used it since, it's in the garage somewhere). But after eight days I was gripped with a fierce urge to go for a dump. I will draw a veil over the next few hours, which included embarrassing medical intervention, except to say that I now know what giving birth feels like. It is funny in the telling afterwards (my brother actually fell off his pub stool laughing at my use of the phrase "bin-bags"), but at the time, I thought I was going to die.

Following that experience, I made it my mission to warn anybody I knew even vaguely, that I had heard was in trouble with back problems.
If you are on any codeine-based painkiller - stuff like cocodamol, cohyrdamol, codyrdamol....in fact anything with "co" in the name; then to save yourself from further pain, take a laxative every day! Trying to squeeze out a big one (I mean BIG!) whilst simultaneously being affected by a massive back spasm is not something I ever wish to repeat.

PS: The doctors are happy to prescribe codeine, but they never give you a warning to take laxatives. That is based upon the evidence of every single person I have advised on the topic. Nurses are well aware of it though, because they deal with the emergency admissions.
