Hi, were you able solve the problem?

I had some similar experiences with bike these days. At the moment it's pretty hot here (30C). Today I climbed around 500m in boost mode with default settings. At around 300m I had only half of the max assistance.. My input was ~200w, bike 110w to max 150w (boost mode). The moter was quite hot. After a 10min downhill full assistance was back. No error codes...

Its called “de-rating” by TQ, and it is by design. I received this from them in my correspondence with TQ about the motor cutting power at higher temperatures;

“Under extreme circumstances, derating of the power may occur. This happens in small steps and only as much as is absolutely necessary to maintain the legally prescribed maximum surface temperatures of the motor.

Derating does not affect the lifetime of the engine. The circumstances that favour derating are:

- high ambient temperatures
- high rider weight / system weight
- long and very steep climbs
- low speed, little cooling by airflow

Especially in the usual area of use of the TREK Fuel EXE (trail biking) where uphills and downhills regularly alternate, there is usually no noticeable derating.”

Picked up my fuel exe 9.7 last week and have ridden it every day since. Absolutely in love with this bike.
Yesterday I got the 4414 Error right at the start of my ride. Thanks to this forum, I stopped by my LBS today and checked the firmware. It had not been updated and they quickly updated all firmware to the latest versions. No issues on the ride home and will report if they return. Thanks everyone!

I don't know about it. All of my other bikes have the Evoke saddle. I actually like it. But, they are wider. This is 138 is all. I'll try it out, but I may throw the Evoke from my other bike on this one.

I planned on removing all components and using the parts from my other build. Seat post, saddle, and crank arms are they only "OE" parts still on it

Same saddle as on my Rail. I can ride it for short distances but see how you get on...

I changed to the SQ Lab 611 Ergowave active and - at least for my sensible parts (I know everybody is different) - it is the best saddle i ever rode. Last Sunday we made a huge tour with over 70km, 1000 hm uphill and 2800hm downhill which meant 5 hours rolling on the bike and had absolutely no pain! but as I said, everybody's geometry is different.

I do need to research more saddles. The only reason the Spesh is going on is it’s a 155mm rather than the 138mm stock one. I gave it a go and it’s painful. The Phenom is a decent saddle but I still get a bit sore - although I’m not sure if that’s from the saddle or my lack of regular riding.
I’ll look into the SQLab ones, I hear they’re pretty good

I used to get a ton of saddle pain. I run Specialized Power saddles on all of my bikes for the last 5 years. I prefer short nose saddles. I do use a chamois but have no issue riding as long as 4-6hrs.

I’ve got a Power Arc on my roadie I quite like, I quite like the short ones on there, might switch it to my Fuel and give it a go

Another thing I noticed while making some adjustments yesterday - the TransX dropper post is very , very difficult to compress the release valve until you completely remove your body weight.
All of my Transfers - I can just push the lever, and they move. This one, I can feel the lever flexing, until I get take weight off the saddle, then I can feel the lever "pop" the valve. Its a Wolf Tooth lever. I wish Transfer was made in in the 34.9. Not sure if I want to shim it...

Upon further review I am running my 210 post shimmed to 200mm. Their calculator works pretty well.

Agree, oem dropper works ok but lever was real bad. I went with a Wolftooth although I wish the new Hope had been out when I was buying.

Had a few bucks in my PP account so I popped for an I9 headset today. Nice little sale going on right now. Got a tall (15mm) top cap version to color match my hubs. Kind of disgusted with my vanity today. I'll get over it and report my findings when it comes in.

Has anybody by any chance had an issue where their Garmin (830 in my case) randomly re-detects the bike sensors? It beeps and pops up “64237 sensor found” for example, for the three TQ sensors (bike, speed/cadence and power).

My 530 seems to do that at random intervals. I have no idea what the implications are.

I used to run the prior version of the SQ Lab, which does not have the more pronounced channel / cutout of the new version. I had to switch when I took another step towards getting old as f'k and got an irritated prostate.

Me and my prostate are getting along very well with Ergon saddles, but the rails can move in the saddle and creak, especially once it's taken a good thwack in a crash. Oil or grease is a temporary solution. Just tried a loctite retaining compound and, fingers crossed, nice and quiet thus far.

I may eventually spend the money to try the new SQ Lab. They are really well made. Would highly recommend.

Agree, oem dropper works ok but lever was real bad. I went with a Wolftooth although I wish the new Hope had been out when I was buying. View attachment 119063

I have a Wolf Tooth installed. It's not a lever issue. If I push the dropper lever with my weight on the saddle, the lever will not activate the dropper. If I hold pressure on the lever, but then take my weight off, I can feel the actuator pop, and then I can lower the seat.
Weight off, it's just like any other dropper.

When I was removing my screen protector cover, the screen went bonkers, and showed all sorts of symbols!

That would be shocking and unheard of redoing a new model after 1 year.....unless they do a firmware update to increase efficiency or power if they feel they can't compete w/ Specialized new SL which I'd be surprised if they admitted that. E-mtb wise only thing that would be interesting would be a Kenevo SL competitor w/ a TQ motor

Sorry I didn’t mean a whole new model. Just the 2024 version of the exe. I’d bloody love to see Trek do a mid power with the Bosch SX motor though!
