So now my bike turns on and the motor starts for like 2 seconds and then the motor power shuts off. The handlebar component is on but motor just doesn’t go.. anyone have experience with this?
Is that on a bike stand by any chance ? You need actual torque on the pedal ( more than just turning a crank on a stand ) for the motor to continue.

It rained today so I just rode around a couple times on the street. First time on an ebike.. and wow.. the power is insane. Do you guys ever even shift gears? I feel like I don't need more than low power on this thing....
Default factory setting over power for lightweight, so I reduce it with Besst Pro, also can save battery consumption. How much total weight with your build?

I had them put normal side access cable ports on mine
>>> Update, they could not install the ports in time to meet the sailing of the container ship so I chose to ship the frame rather than wait. So I went with Nukeproof headsets. I would be concerned with water getting in to the motor with any of the other headsets I have seen
:)

Hi Mike, any verdict on the cable ports yet?

Cheers.

Rip-N-Flo: The good, the bad, & the ugly.🍻

Full Enduro build (Iteration #2). Just the highlights/pics of the unicorn build. 🦄

720 Wh battery; Zeb-180 mm/Sldxu MegNeg-165 mm; 27.5+ 3.0"/2.8" Maxxis tires; Hope 220 mm/220 mm rotors. Onyx/I9 carbon wheelset 36H/32H; Hardlite front/rear axles; Ti bolts throughout. Large frame size.

🤙45.53 lbs dry-weight.

👉46.86 + lbs wet-weight. (Plus pedals/boots, sealant/inserts, bottle cage, and HB bell).

Conclusion: So, my full powered 160/150
travel trail rig (with a comperable battery size) is about 56.5+ lbs wet weight. Overall, I was able to shed 10lbs of weight for more agility and more travel. (The good.)

Iteration #3 purple paint fade and upgraded Zeb fork will be 4-6 weeks away with a slightly heavier warranty frame front triangle.* (The bad).

*I found a hair-line fracture near the downtube motor mount area out of the box.😝🤬😵‍💫 It's not structural, but I had to delay the build 1.5 weeks to clear it from Linda to go ahead and ride. So good news is, I can be fairly rough with it until the warranty comes in!💪 One of the benefits of ordering the thin matte black primer paint is crack visibility. (The ugly).🤔

Did the crack appear after installing the motor?

No. It was like that in the box already. No damage to the shipping box. Linda admitted that it happened to someone else too.

She speculated that it was the weak method that it was packaged in. She said they would reinforce the warranty front triangle for my case using a cross weave layer called 3-k.

As the ZSSZ engineer stated it was not structural. I just did a few small baby jumps today on it and hasn't gotten worse.

I have personally used my carbon kit to patch other analogue carbon frames in the past and easily was comfortable riding it... I'm just not going to enter into this year's RedBull Rampage with the current CEF50 frame😁

Next year you can jump into red bull, but only with a parachute :)

I will not install the battery in the frame. I showed that you can put a battery on 28ah. The battery entered the frame. The battery is installed firmly. The battery does not need fasteners. The battery size is 230x75x60mm. The 3p10s. 21700 battery is glued together with glue. Weight 2200g. The photo shows from above where the bms is installed. For the frame, it is better to place the bms on the side of the battery.

Nice alternative! 2.2 kgs/4.85 lbs. 28Ax3px10s =840 Wh!

Vs. SZZS 720 Wh 4.0 kgs/8.18 lbs.

4.0 kg - 2.2 kg = 1.8 kg/3.97 lbs. Savings? 🫣

Holy sh$$t! I can shave off this much weight?💪

Is the casing really that much extra weight?🤔
1 x 21700 cell = 60 g.
60 g x 30 cells (3p/10s) = 1800 g + 400 BMS/wrap = 2200 g.

It fits solidly in the frame with no fasteners? Wouldn't you still need a bracket at both ends to plug and isolate movement up and down the tube?

The next big question. How to save that much weight, there must be a light-weight retaining solution to firmly hold the battery in place?

Someone really smart and creative, what are some possible solutions?🍻

Styrofoam block might work... somehow. Probably at the top. Maybe with a metal bracket near the motor mount. Might have to drill some holes to fasten it in there. Doable!🤛

On cell weight. I just googled generic at 60 g.😎 But still 70g x 30 = 2100 g. Awesome!🤙

Generic construction spray foam is sticky and light and sturdy. Just poke a few holes in each end to aerate for heat dissipation and use Bondo to close the frame mounting holes dorsally on downtube. Paint and boom! 120 Wh battery boost for 4 +/- lbs off for a DiY softpack and Boom! Frik'n game-changer, Goldilocks zone, quiver-killer, unicorn build? Wow! Am I seeing this correctly!?😵‍💫I swear no drugs or EOTH consumption!

Looks good.

Did you mount your rear tire on backwards for a particular reason?

I reverse my tread on rear for more "scoop" action. Knobs will track and grip s bit more. The Maxxis HRII center lugs are on slightly directional...so probably wouldn't make a big difference on this tread pattern. Despite small diff just force of habit😎

I mean it will surely be a mess to get the right fitment and it expands quiet a lot if u aim to spray it directly into frame.
A styrofoam block only needs to be cut to length if you stand the batteries like Lanton said, will sit firmly.
