Managed to find a partly off road route from home to Hartside and back
Isnt that an off road section of the C2C?
Thanks Zim, not sure mine was much better. I've just done a full bolt check & found not much wrong, just a loose one on the crank. I was fully expecting to have to pay £300 import duty, the DHL admin fee & about £900 VAT but the courier guy handed it over & said cheerio. Result.

Boy oh boy that brings back memories of the C2C weekends done on the Stumpy hardtail…….always a two night, three day drunken friendly pedal, happy days.

G..quiet now ..
They cant all be ruffy tuffy northerners ..they probably dont know what mud is ..!! ?
Hey, it's not my fault the weather isn't being British! It still looks spotlessly clean, maybe a smither of dust on the tyres. Great colour, like a desert rat. How’s it riding ?

First impressions & I only have my Stilus to compare it with are it's a much more planted ride as you would expect running 170 & sticky Magic Marys. I earned a downhill PB at 30mph-ish on a half mile rough & rutted, descent last night on the first try which might give some idea of how confidence inspiring the ride is. OTOH, I haven't got it dialled yet, the sag needs sorting, the shock is bottoming out & the fork nowhere near, bars a bit low, reach not quite right etc. so I'm expecting it to get better! But it is a big enduro bike & I am thinking of dialling it down weight & travel wise with different suspension & a few lighter bits - the curse of the MTB'er I suppose.

Yes it is on the way up, the way down is public access tracks. I need to do a recce to find out how rideable the next section is and if it is practical to add in a short section footpathIsnt that an off road section of the C2C?
No I was talking to Milly the ice cream man while I was up there, the ambitious plans for a semi subterranean eco cafe were pruned back to a normal square box style building, even that is shelved due to funding issues. Maybe it will be up for sale again. Who knowsAny sign of a new cafe being built there yet ? I’m sure I read somewhere ages ago that a new cafe was due to be built. Used to stop there regularly on the motorbike

Can't ride through mud that ain't there dude. You can Inspect her for battle scars if you want haha. Nice scrape on rear mech and few chips and scrapes on the belly plate. That bike looks brand new!

? OK I'll let you off I thought you where insinuating that I was all the gear no idea. Every ride she does get scrubbed back to new tho! Being my first e bike I'm still a bit unsure on how clean and dry I need to keep it so i just give it the works after every ride.No need for me to inspect for battle scars, I was complimenting your bike, it’s in tip top condition, still looks brand new ?
