Bit of an epic today with @The EMF @Richywalker64 & @Tonybro ..out of Blanchland , Northumberland .
In excess of 30 miles with 3075ft climbing ( Richys stats) 2 x otb one for Wayne quite serious with a full rock face plant and a cracked helmet upon home inspection ..and a good soaking into a quite substantial puddle ..( you wouldn't expect anything else) hope your aches are subsiding this morning ..and Richy ..otb into the swamp of which I had a first hand view as I was stuck in the gloop well above my knee and wondering if I was going to free myself with shoe intact ..10/10 for effort & bottle thinking he could ride through it !😂..
To top it all with already tired legs first Wayne's battery ran out on the not unsubstantial last climb of the day ..followed by mine a couple of minutes later ..
In between times though what a cracking ride out on some of the best & technical singletrack In Northumberland ..
Only a few pics from me ..but that Tonybro had his pesky go-pro with him ..so god knows what is going to eventually turn up !😁.
Richy out front & Tony following on the rocky climb that is " The Broadway " ..also done as a descent on our return leg .

Wayne on the trail bike chewed climb on the edge of Slaley Forest..its a by-way open to trail bikes from the 1st May ..but it seems like they couldn't wait ..

Richy admiring the view 😂😂

Never been to Northumberland (N E England) before, so a 25 mile loop to Lindisfarne today. 😀

Hope you're enjoying your time in our grotty county ..make sure you write a scathing report to stop others from wasting their time travelling up here ..😉😂.
Just to think you could have joined us yesterday and like myself be incapable of moving too well this morning Jack ..
( seriously though ..hope you are enjoying the beautiful Northumberland Coast & Country )

Give me a shout next time your doing that and I will join you. It’s not to far from me. 👍

Hope that link works, there's a Facebook group e-bike rides in the north west. Lots of group rides organised as well as last minute 'im riding here tomorrow anyone want to join' if you've got FB check it out.
I got the gpx file for this route from there as I'd never done it before 👍🏻

Following on from @The Hodge and @Tonybro this was a great but sometimes brutal ride with the afore mentioned and @Richywalker64. Didn’t bring my “A” game to this ride but thoroughly enjoyed it just the same with some good craic thrown in for good measure. The highlight for me was the drop down Fell Veiw from the Broadway which I’ve only done as a steep long technical climb. The low point bring a head plant OTB into a narrow rock filled gully that I’ve rode many times without a second thought. My Leatt helmet saved me from a severe injury, it did it’s job well.
And I’d wished I’d used my Mobi,

Just as well the helmet worked well as otherwise it would have ruined your good looks..and despite the intention to clean my bike once home it stayed looking like yours until mid-morning today ..
Hope you are feeling OK..?

Seen as @RustyMTB is laid up, I thought I'd go searching for some sedate new trails to give him some pretty Focus Jam pictures ..

It didn't quite goto plan .. I named this trail "Satans Armpit" ... It was generally a mix of boulders and bogs with some crappy bits thrown in for good measure ..

Fortunately I found some nicer bits later :

Though most of it wasn't very flowy and it was generally pretty tight ..

Get well soon @RustyMTB , though as the appendix is the organ which produces the chemicals the brain needs to regulate bike spending, it could be an expensive time.

Had mine out aged 19..having just picked up the girlfriend for a night out in Newcastle ..it had been rumbling all day / settled down / severe pain upon picking the young lady up and it was she who insisted we go to the hospital to get things checked out .
After waiting a good while things quietened down again so that I was quite cheery when explaining things to the huge African doctor ..who in turn thought I was just taking the piss ../ wasting his time ( like I didn't have better things to do )
I don't know if you are aware as to how they check out a rumbling Appendix ..(if not then I will leave it as a surprise ) ..but when he checked out mine I'm sure I levitated about 10ft in the air ..was kept in and operated on asap ...
Fun times 😁🤪
