Fridays ride was one I wouldn't recommend to anyone, it was hideously tough, only 18 miles and 4000feet of climbing, but all the ups were unrideable hike a bike, and the downs weren't much better. I think most people would call it character building. Average moving speed of just under 4mph tells you everything you need to know.

Up Rossett Gill, down styhead pass, then up and over stakes pass, a ride best avoided.
What a picture of the kind of riding I just love to do ?.
Meanwhile have been riding the 12 kilos full sus 26’ stumpy as its the only one from the quiver not in need of some kind of service.

Oh yes. Every time I ride my trail bike, it takes a few miles to shake off the feeling I'm riding with two flat tires. ?

Fantastic day in the Northern Lake District today with Dave & Jean ( on mtbs ) ..
As you would expect quite a few folk both walking & riding on the fells ....the highlight of the route being the techy drop on the bridleway from Skiddaw House back down to Mosedale ( where we started the ride) ..normally a wet boggy mess ..it was completely dry !
A few pics ..

Absolutely gutted that I had to take a dab on the climb up Whitewater Dash ..within a few yds of the gate ( loss of traction ) otherwise I would have cleared it in a one-er?
The other mtber is about to go with his mate up the back of Skiddaw ..and will be pushing that bike for about the next 1.5 hrs ..?

We’ve gotten quite a bit of rain here in the High Desert. It’s welcome and has resulted in an amazing greening of all the plant life. Is not nearly so impressive in pics but, hopefully you get the idea. It’s stunningly beautiful here right now...
Yes, it’s amazing how quickly the monsoon rains can transform the desert!
Summer/Fall blooms can be as beautiful as those in the Spring.
We’d welcome some of that rain here in SoCal!

28 miles in the scorching heat, I dont feel too great, should have at least worn suncream! View attachment 66757
I know how you are feeling Dobbs ..I wore suncream ( factor 50) ..but 28c in the Lskes today which was fine while riding ..but I feel a little tom/dick sitting back at home ..
I did take lots more water on board too...but I guess when you are not used to riding in those sort of temps its bound to have an effect..
