Are you going to order direct from Nicolai @Rob Rides EMTB ?
Would be interested to know how much shipping and import fees come to.

Nicolai had a meeting with Paul at Geometron last week about the possibility of them importing the bikes. As far as mailing from Germany goes, take 19% VAT off the listed price, add around £90 for delivery an d then add 6% import duty and 20% VAT and you'll be about right. Are you going to order direct from Nicolai @Rob Rides EMTB ?

Interesting build spec.So I will be installing the following
- Intend Edge with Travelizer Air Spring
- Intend Trinity
- AXS seatpost
- AERtime pedals
- Brakestuff Puchdisk brake rotors (special edition)

I'll think about the rest later when I've ridden the bike on my trails
Thank you for the link. It is a fantastic source of information. Uncle Google helped too.Sorry, the forum is in German. The user Tirolbiker63 has made detailed tests.Bremsscheiben Design vs. Funktion
Toller Vergleich.

I would go for Intend Flash and a coil shock instead but that's me, a relatively heavyweight person.
I also wanted to ask: what are the advantages of the Brakestuff Punchdisk brake rotors versus Hope Vented rotors (for those running Hope Tech V4 brakes).
Yes, I already had, but adapters are requiredOne question on this, can we fit a 223mm rotor on the Edge or Flash?
I have never had a problem with the USD forkOne (but silly question), when I see how the lower legs of my forks are battered once in a while, I am wondering if the same would happen on a USD fork or if extra care/consideration is needed with these forks
approximately 1000€The brake look top notch but how expensive!
Yes, "The Travelizer is installed in all new forks starting from April 2024. If you have an older fork and want to upgrade, you’ve come to the right place."Agreed - I would go for the Flash too, the bike with the 960Wh battery is big beast. It also seems that the Travelizer Air Spring is included by default in the Flash vs the Edge
I'm with you. Definitely want 200mm both ends. Paul Aston has done a recent video and apparently the problem is the belt tensioner cannot move that far. Hopefully someone will crack this pretty soon.I think Nicolai is very much tuned to the market. Therefore, in comparison to 160mm market, there would be much less of the potential client base for the 190mm and up ebike, similar to the Pole setup.
Yes, some people would love to have one, myself including. It is all about what sells. Nothing more. Nothing less.
And since we speak about what we dream about, I would also want to have the 800W 45km/h MGU version available, purely for shits and giggles of it.
Saw pt 1&2 and Robs review and podcast on it. I really want it, but I also want more travel and the ability to derestrict it too.
More travel is a tough one with this one. Paul Aston mentioned issues when one wants to increase the wheel travel (belt tensioner, belt location, etc).Saw pt 1&2 and Robs review and podcast on it. I really want it, but I also want more travel and the ability to derestrict it too.
Yeah, I’m sure no manufacturer would be ok with it. But a software fix would be great. I think the belt tensioner could be easily made longer to take up the extra slack of having longer travel too. I’d also prefer the 9 speed version of the Pinion motor rather than the 12 speed. The 9 speed is lighter and the range should still be fine for the full power motor to handle.More travel is a tough one with this one. Derestricting is a different issue. Sooner or later someone will come up with a solution, the same Bosch engines are catered for.
Btw, there are no mechanical and dimensional changes between the 25km/h (600W) and 45km/h (800W) versions. It is purely software. As far as I know, Nicolai would not allow Pinion to derestrict it.
At the moment this is just a moot discussion for me, fortunatelyYeah, I’m sure no manufacturer would be ok with it. But a software fix would be great. If the grumpy old man that is Paul Aston (joking, I really respect his content) likes it, it must be good!
One crucial info I wish to add here: at present time they are developing the bike with battery outside the FIT environment which, in my view, is good news. Personally I am annoyed with the manufacturers locking in their systems.Seen on embn, moustache are developing an MGU based bike, could be good as they were a very good value brand for a while. I thought they were having financial issues however, seems like a bit of a risk to buy french bikes right now (thinking of lapierre)
There was a one year exclusive partnership with the brands that we have seen products from. Pinion weren't even returning emails from other brands. After watching the nicolai reviews, i wonder why Pinion MGU doesnt get more love from brands ?
I'd really like to see some VPP + MGU awesomeness, and more !
I definitely see some space for a 160/160 or 170/170 enduro bike, MGU and fully integrated battery, carbon frame ... blah ? Sometimes, i feel like bike industry is soooooo conservative.
