___

hereby i want to share my next build. I have read this forum for some time and some people know me from my facebook bike builds

- Intro
- some of my old builds;
- component list

my previous bikes as i'm no stranger to diy builds💪

first one tsd2 converted hardtail
IMG_1865.jpeg

second one was a Lightcarbon lces004
150mm rear and 170mm front
27.5x2.8 bafang m600 600wh

IMG_2044.jpeg

my third one
Dengfu E14 hardtail with m510 and 840wh weighing only 20.6kg.

very fun as a gravel bike and light trail bike.
IMG_1854.jpeg

my current bike
E10 with 170 rear (yoke modded and offset bush) and 160mm front
m510 840wh

this will get a rebuild to a more trail oriented spec with a full 29" setup and slightly less agressive tires.
IMG_1776.jpeg

left one full marzocchi spec, with bomber cr 170 rear and 170 front Z1 27x2.8 , Right one is mine as a mullet and 160front.

so all nice bikes, some changed over the years.
i have been using these bafang M motors for the last 4 years and im very happy! very reliable and just good experiences 👍

_____

So after all these builds i'm doing my 5th personal build for 2025

Decided to go for the Kunlun frame as i think it looks very good and is 170-195mm rear travel depending on yoke and shock combo
IMG_1881.jpeg

still in the planning phase and just ordered frame from china.

planned parts for this build;
Mullet, 190f/195r
Big burly Enduro bike

Markhor Kunlun frame S3

+ Bafang M510 - 720wh 48V Bafang battery 21700 cells, 36T steel Narrow wide chainring, 1T1 canbus cable, 165mm cranks and brakedisc speed magnet

Suspension
+ Rockshox ZEB 190 29" ultimate 44mm offset charger 3.1
+ Rockshox ultimate DH 250x75 with steel shaft and 500lbs coil

+ Oneup dropper V2 240mm with Ergon Enduro saddle and Markhor seatclamp

Cockpit
+ PNW Range Alu bars 780mm
+ Title 35mm stem and Ergon grips
+ ZTTo dropper lever
+ ZTTo headset and spacers

Drivetrain
+ Shimano M5130 linkglide ebike drivetrain with KMC e10 ept chain
+ ISCG05 DH tensioner

Brakes
+ TRP DH-R evo brakes
+ Galfer pro green pads
+ TRP +20mm brake adapters F/R
+ TRP 2.3 220mm rotors

Wheels
+ Hunt Proven carbon EMTB mullet 31mm 36spokes HG
+ Schwalbe eddy current gravity 2.6 rear, eddy current supertrail 29x2.6 front and Rockshox torque caps
+ CushCore Pro tire inserts Mullet

Sound proofing
+ Rubber chainstay protector Ali
+ Rubber downtube protector
+ foam damper around all hoses and wires

i like my bikes - Silent

Total costs so far;
€5600,-

- still need a dropper but i need to check the length first
- way overbudget so i deleted the custom Cerakote paintjob 🙄

So i choose an M510 because efficiency weight and noise. I just love this motor with a good eco tune in BESST . I prefer durability and range over power anyday👍

Please send a link to the supplier's frame. Have you weighed the frame, how much does it weigh?

That looks great! Like some of the custom colours better, and dont really need all that travel, so maybe not for me, but it looks excellent a proper Bafang battery is great too!

I talked to Sam. He told me that their M560 is different in software. And they have a new wireless remote control in the frame. But whether the motor itself is different, I still have not received an answer. Suddenly they installed nylon gears

so i updated the components list a bit.

decided to sell of my 180mm smashpot and get a 190mm air zeb instead to make it 190front and 195 rear which should be a better match, didnt want to go dual crowns but you could 😬

The frame is designed for a 170mm fork. When installing 190mm, the geometry of the frame will change. Ask the seller if they can provide an adjustable cane creek steering column.

im sure 20mm is fine, been overforking frames since i started building..
yes geo will change slightly but no big deal.

its currently the frame with the most travel, i ride gnarly stuff in the alps so it will help a lot

the frame is rated up till 200mm dual crown anyways

so 4 weeks after payment battery did arrive
compared to e10 840wh

build quality looks decent. build by bafang so should be fine
maybe it comes with overprotecting bms like other bafang batteries i used.
it has 2 external 'car' fuse holders . xt30 on the charger side and xt60 on the power side

so the dengfu is 296 grams heavier.
but to be able to use it in the frame it needs these battery lock spacers + wiring
which i had an extra so i weigh them up at 397gr so the total difference between the 2 packs will be 693grams. (and 120wh).

I think that is a good weight savings so far... as the dengfu e10 battery was always to big for most rides.

IMG_2201.jpeg

Markhor 720wh kunlun battery comes in at 3597grams and requires 4 m6 bolts

Building up my slightly used wheels,
Hunt Proven Carbon Emtb mullet wheelset. 31mm internal 36spokes and steel HG driver.

These are build like a tank and for me (104kg) these rock! very stiff and allow me ride super fast without worrying.
they came with lifetime warranty as wel.

IMG_2193.jpeg

removing and cleaning the used cushcore turned out to be a hell 😅

IMG_2194.jpeg

installing them on a new super gravity casing tire turned to be almost impossible. lets have hand pain for the coming week 😬

nice burly eddy current tires in the Soft
compound. These rock both hardpack bikepark trails and softer loamy conditions and doesn't have a lot of drag either.

2.6 eddy current 29" front soft supertrail
2.6 27.5" rear soft super gravity
both with cushcore inserts (just love the way they ride)
TRP 220mm 2.3mm rotors
Deore 10speed linkglide 11-48 casette

weight showed for information purposes.
This is no weight weenie build tho 🤟🏻

build up the rear linkage and put medium loctite on all the bolts and put the correct torque on each bolt.
I dont want to loose anything during a ride...

also test fitted the fork to see how low i can go with the stem.

i want it to be as low as possible because the 190mm fork is already quite long

rear shock i chose the Rockshox Super deluxe ultimate DH 250x75 with steel shaft, as this bike has a slightly longer yoke. Bushings from offset bushing

the rear shock has HBO, LSC,HSC,Rebound and preload settings

up front i chose for a Zeb Ultimate 29 190" 44mm offset.

frame costs 2600 + shipping (frame and battery and charger, thru axle and headset)

so it is a little bit more than others, but also looks way more finished and feels more high quality.
