The stock headset definitely isn't the best. I think the cables are getting caught between the compression ring and the inner race of the bearing leading to it being pinched?

Some like the Acros ICR, the compression ring has a physical barrier between the cables and bearing race which should prevent pinching, if anyone has tried it I would love to hear your opinions? Acros also has the cables enter from the side rather than the front which would relieve pressure on the cables as its more natural.

No it doesn’t and yes you can still the battery level on the display and the app.
While it maybe possible to build a 48V battery to fit this frame it will take some time to configure the layout where as 36 & 43 volts is easy,. Are you thinking 39 18650 cells 3 x 13?

About the DIY battery, lots of peoples want the bigger battery, 720wh, 840wh, 960wh, the more the better,
but please note,
1. This is an electric assist bicycle, electric energy is only auxiliary and should not be the main force, Use your feet to move the pedals, not just sit there.
2. We talked with the bafang designers, they not suggest the bigger battery more than 500wh for M820 motor, That is, the full electric mode for two hours; high current output for a long time may cause the motor to overheat, which involves the effective conversion of energy of a motor, and they are still being resolved.
3. some info about BF F014, the infomations are old version, the newest version only change the battery mount.

Hi. Do you know if you can buy stronger engine mount bolts? The aluminum ones that come with the frame won't hold up to the third tightening... Or, can I buy the aluminum ones only from JIM or are they available in online stores - which ones?

The frame has a progressive leverage ratio. We have ran a coil on our test frame (for around 12 months), and current demo. You won’t necessarily require a progressive coil due to the nature of the curve (we use a standard spring).

There is fair amount of compression especially in the early stroke (so bear that in mind for the old pedal bob), but it really holds the ground well and is super supple; and without a harsh bottom out. Just make sure you get the correct spring rate to your weight for the suspension design, that is key.

We will be uploading recommended spring rates on our website for coils. Just a bit of work to do on everything else yet….! View attachment 145917

hello

What display can I put on this M820 engine?
I have seen several models on Aliexpress but I don't know if they would be suitable for this engine.

greetings

Actually, reading bafang documentation, I saw some diplays have mentions of "heartbeat". For example C245 ble 5.0 and 5.1 versions along with C010. Maybe someone with either display could confirm?

C010:

Edit:
C010 seems to also have some support for navigation

Sorry, I've been very busy recently, so I don't have time to reply to you, but I have been reading your comments and passing on your feedback to our designers.
Recently we have also made a new head set cover. The solution is the same as the S BOX cover. Please see the pictures I have on Google Photos.
The latest batch of frames shipped uses the latest covers.

In addition, if there is a strong requirement for the LCE930 and LCE971 to be routed outside the head tube, we can also help dig holes on the left and right sides, and each hole can pass two cables. However, the display thread is relatively thick, so it is recommended to pass it through the head set cover.
Generally, a $10 labor fee will be added. It is necessary to drill holes after the frame is raw finished but before painting. We have enhanced this location on all frames in case you need to make holes.

Jim, can I make holes in the frame in the LCE930 from June 2024, of course gently so as not to delaminate the carbon, e.g. using a high-speed milling machine? If so, which place is least exposed to stress?

Hi Jim,

Do the pictures show the correct orientation? Cable exiting the back of headset?

Hi Bro,

We are just doing a trial installation to show off the new cover. You can choose its front and rear direction during actual installation, because the C-ring below is movable, and the corresponding cover can also be moved.

The previous frame could also be drilled, because the punched area itself had been reinforced for all frrames we produced,. We were very conservative, so we reinforced it again later September. I will record a short video about punching and am currently working on the text,
