Just visited my LBS and the sales guys are absolutely stoked about the Levo G4 - they got me back into thinking "shock the industry" again. Here they predict the black raw carbon will sell fastest. The new side-load battery and swat box is clean and seamless design and that you cannot see it, unlike the Rail RIB system etc. They also suggested you can make a nice SL by buying the smaller battery etc.

They want to sell more bikes, why not? They simply put more effort into a more capable frame, rather than in a wireless remote.
Gen2 only came with 150mm travel although frame officially supported up to 160mm, non-officially even more ...

Biggest flop of the year, nothing exciting at all, lame.....
I don't know, it ticks a lot of boxes, large easily removable battery, great motor, sorted adjustable geometry, correct shock orientation, no gimmicks. I am curious, what do we think Levo will bring to the table that is more exciting than this?

A more powerful motor and a legion of people who will buy anything with a Specialized badge.

That said, I've had 2 Trek Rails in a row and am considering either the Vala or the Levo.

LBS mechanic showed me a pic of the new pro in a very sexy blue. He has suggested I wait until the Levo comes out, as he can sell me either.

He is excited as

It would be nice to have a Gen 4 motor and battery warranty of 5 years..
This! Reason why ebikes aren’t worth a darn after 2yrs when the motor/battery warranty is up. I have dumped a lot of coin in my two ebikes in past 4 years to make them good for me (Rail, Levo) and one is useless sack of tin (and carbon) and the other one busted. Back on analog strictly as a result and it sucks. Specialized offered 35% crash replacement and waiting on what Sram says. So, only speculating replacement prospects currently (G4, Vala, Bullit). Not a dentist here, so feel like ebikes are a loss and a kick in the nutz when something goes wrong (bound to happen on them due to added complexity with motor/battery/electronics). So fun to ride though and hard to give up however!

if its out of warranty and broke just go and repair it as you would repair your fork, no need for drama, even in my god forgotten region the most motors are repairable by local mechanics, I'm sure you could find one in USA.

I’m still scratching my head as why they went side load… and they only way I see something special happening is if the side load battery is modular in some way.

I'm considering Mondraker's 2025 Crafty Carbon along with the Gen 4 Levo. My guess is side-load is better than Mondraker's bottom-load approach from a water intrusion viewpoint. On the Crafty Carbon, all four edges of the battery access panel (which is actualy attached to the Bosch battery) face downwards. But the bottom side of the downtube has got to be one of the wetter parts of the frame.

Pretty waterproof my Gen 2 levo . I remove battery every ride never seen any water in there . Latest version of battery to motor plug (4th ) has been ok for 2 years at least.
