On my Orbea there were spyders that could replace the direct mount chainring. That would get you what you want. I don't know if it is available for the bafang motor. But it would be logical that it is how that picture of the road bike with two chainrings.

When you install this motor, it is obligatory to use the battery from Bafang?
If not that I guess it is the answer to my question the display will have battery info?
Thanks...

no, you can use all battery with power supply in line with the controller software: 36V, 43V or 48V

yes for the battery power, not for the cells status (informations available with bafang batteries)

Initially i had ordered my CEF50 with an 48V15Ah battery, but at use i have constated that i never consume more than 40% to doing +- the same think than E510 (+- 30km +- 1500D+). i have purchased an generic cheap battery 10Ah from "battery supplier store", received failed (no more than 80% full charged), but enough to see that it's the good solution for my use. i have purchased one more 9.6Ah carbon case from SZZS and it's perfect for me with the M820.

But. request anothers returns. it's seem that somebodies have different advise. They neds range extender for example, while i never consume more than 70% with the 9.6Ah ? I'm heavy (+-100kg), i ride on moutain (pyrenees) and i mostly climb on DFCI. E-biking for me it's clim quietely to go up an funny toy to playfull in downhill. I don't like climb hard technical single. I use the M820 only when i ride alone or with other non assisted MTB. With other E-bike or when i go faraway riding several days (ainsa, tremp, castejon de sos, etc..), i take the M510

I see you are from Spain, like me. I am from Navarra...
Talking about the technical matters, what have you done in the motor I guess, to change the original battery to SZZS one?

I have read in the forum that the canbus it is not required...
? can bus necessary for all series M bafang motor. If you speak about battery, you can use battery without can BMS (only bafang provide it), but you can"t monitoring cells status on HMI and BESST tool

Then a non Bafang battery is plug and play with the required connector. Where can be bought a connector for the battery to plug in the motor?

for M520 it's XT30. but not necessary to purchase separately, normally battery supplier provide as you request

for clarity Patdam probably meant M820 is Xt30, which it is. Battery must be ordered with the xt30 or adapter for xt30.

Yes I have done, awaiting outcome. Thanks.
An update, I had been waiting for a replacement bms, which I have recently received. Before I fitted it I checked if there was anything specific that had to be done and discovered that if the connector which carries the wires from each cell is disconnected then reconnected it resets the bms. Which is what I have done. I have not fitted the new bms. The bike now switches back on and runs, however the range has reduced significantly, dropping from 100% to 90% after only 3 kilometres, it dropped to 20% after doing 35k using mostly eco mode with about 600 metres of ascent. In the past I have covered up-to about 50k with more height gain and still had about 30% left. Could some of the cells be faulty?
