Check the suspension charts of the E10. Axle path / chain growth. Of course there is chain backslash. It’s optimized to balace the different effects like anti rise / anti squat, but it’s there. Not saying this decoupled chainwheel is noticeable, just theory. Looking at the price of this system, it’s not me to find out if it’s worth the money 😊

When i move my suspension (in static). i don't see any movement of my pedals. I think that the engineers have performed lot of calculation to reduce "chain effects" with swing arms design, no ?
You can pick up your bike and throw it on the ground with 2 wheels. You will see how the cranks turn backwards

Check the Canbus cable / connector motor to the display. Those cables are not very reliable, my E10 has about 4.500 km now, and I‘m on the 3rd cable. If the cable is defect due to internal cable break or not fully inserted / leading to a loose contact at the display cable port, exactly this happens.
Hi Thaeber. About the shutdown. I checked all the wires. Nothing was detected. After reassembling the bike, 2 rides went by with no problems. Before the last ride I put some inside the shift housing and again had a problem with turning off. Do you have a problem with the killswitch button near with battery key? Could this be where the problem might be? Does anyone know if this button can be ruled out now to check this theory?

I never jused the harness for brake or shift sensors. I don’t need that, so I have no experience. I run a single canbus cable from motor to the display, and that causes enough trouble for me. Many connectors- many problems, unfortunately. Good luck with troubleshooting!

I'm meaning the shift housing for the rear derailleur :)
Were your previous cables visually damaged?

First ride with the FC2.0. Too powerful for me(350W at level 1) and heavy consumtion. Very good upgrade with the dpc245, i can read now the power assist and the cranks arms rpm.

Other improvement now, i can recover in line soft update with the BEEST pro tool. i have updated the controller with 2010.1 rev (bugs correction mentioned).

After soft update, for reading new upgrade and the parameters (custom seeting losed) i needed to remove the BESST tool wire, plug HMI to motor, switch on motor. Before replug the BEEST tool

I ill test these parameters:
acceleration: 1 - 2- 3 - 4 - 4
% of assist: 27-140-140-230-340
power max (%)24-50-100-100-100

any recomendations from experimented users ?

what kind of engine is it to drive? responsiveness, hill power, battery consumption.....?

M510 FC2.0 48V. 15Ah battery.
980 m D+ with 61 % consumed (I'm 96 kg) with my custom seeting. 760 m D+ with 76% consumed with original seeting. level 3 is enough for me to climb as i want (if more than 20%, i prefer to use walk mode), i will try
acceleration: 1 - 1- 2 - 2 - 2
% of assist: 25-100-140-140-300
power max (%)25-40-60-100-100

Factory default setting is too powerful, we must set with our need.
This is my setting, level 1 for flat, level 2 for light climb. It will save a lot battery consumption. (I use first version of Besst Pro)

It's not only the rev of BEEST, it's also function of the controller. I have the same screen than you when i read 510 FC1.0 (and only local update available).

When i read FC2.0 it's different (and online update available)

Ok guys, bad news.

Just installed M510 FC2.0 with 8.1 firmware.

To my surprise throttle is limited to 32kmh. Luckily, pedalling is not.

When you reaching 32kmh over throttle, power is ramping down.

When you pedalling lets say 40kmh and u press throtle, power is going down and also your speed.

If you set 25kmh, throtle is still hardcoded to 32kmh - which does not make sense.

Congratulation Bafang, you again spoil it. Every firmware some surprise! Hope this limitation will be removed in later firmwares.

Besst and Besst pro told me "Update failed" On my previous motor I had no problem trying to change SW.
Do you know how to fix this? Thanks in advance

Tried to change SW to CRX10NC4814i101003-1-cs-28-2230-boot3-0-20220517161110-48v-M510 because I like this release more than others, and 3.6 is unrideable and dangerous for me (do not want to stop motor with brakes on a technical rock descent).

Mate, was told here many times, there are 4 versions of motor and firmwares are not compatible each other.

Dado sorry for that stupid question.
But I still can't find the differences between the motor versions. How did you recognize this? The default SW that was installed by Bafang? Is there any other software for my case? On github I see Rev_I and Rev_E.

From label hard to recognize fc1.0 versions each other. It is done according boot loader version.

Hello Theaber. This one is with boot code 0x91 - so latest, third revision of FC1.0 controller. Now I dont remember if your M510 is second or third revision. You can flash into your motor firmwares version 3.1 3.1cs 3.2 3.6? If so you have second revision of FC1.0.

Yes, there is big mess and non logical things in Bafang labeling as you wont find out, which FC1.0 you have just by looking at motor. From controller label or motor label not possible to find out. You need to send bootloader version request over BESST and motor will reply with bootloader version. It is the following one in Besst. "X10N-3.1" is latest FC1.0 controller with boot code 0x91

With your revision I have only 3.5 and 3.6, I guess you have there one of these. And 36V version 1.6
What are you looking for with new firmware?

I mean for the FC1 :)
I don't like the 3.6 because when I stop pedaling, the motor still runs for ~3 seconds. I ride on very loose rocky trails, and the nature of the 3.6 doesn't suit me at all. Could you share 3.5 SW?

I haven't try all of this because I'm on FC 2.0 motor. Just get from friend who help me get new firmware for FC 2.0. Do own your own risk

Guys. Do you know of a resource where firmware information (engine behavior) is systematized?
I have an understanding of 3.1cs 3.2 and 3.6 for the second revision (pros and cons of each) and 3.6 for the third revision (no changes with the second revision). But no info about 3.5 third rev and about else FW.
Anyone change FW for 245 display?

I did this for 3.1cs 3.2 and 3.6 Rev E.
Yesterday I flashed the motor to 3.5. There is not that much difference compared to 3.6. Still motor runs after the pedals stop, maybe a little less, also noticed a little vibration in the motor when the controller switches off the assist. Only on flat terrain it is noticeable, also on flat terrain the motor runs the longest after the pedals stop.
On the 3.6, regardless of the terrain, the motor runs powerfully (after the pedals stop) on uphill/downhill.
On the 3.5 uphill, the assist switches off a little faster (after pedaling stops) and operation after pedaling stops seems less powerful than on the 3.6.
My favorite FW is the 3.1cs, and it's a pity I don't have it on Rev I.

P.S.
It also looks like the 3.5 and 3.6 have a more voracious engine in terms of battery than the 3.1.
But honestly, I also changed the display on the 245 and with that display I have different level settings compared to the 241. It looks like the eco mode can be made less powerful than the default.

I have not written anywhere that it is the display itself that affects the controller.
I don't see where I wrote an untruth.
With 245, I only have five levels of assist.
With 241 I used 9 levels, and most of the time I only used 2-3. On difficult sections up 4-5 rarely
I used 1-2 on flat terrain, and now I see that the ECO (on 245) is too powerful for me. Maybe the excessive battery consumption compared to the 241 has something to do with it, maybe with the firmware, it's just a guess.
