Not good news about the weight. My retailer confirmed everything we already know but the Expert will be around 22 kg... he also said the margin is reduced so probably no more 22% discount as before.
Ps: bikes in store already but in the warehouse until the official launch.
He invited me to take a look already but I have no time until October.

I guessed that would be the case......they made everything else lighter to cater for the extra 700W battery weight

My Specy retailer confirmed today only Expert and Sworks have the 700w battery. IMHO if the 700w has different cells than the 504w, then the electronic to manage the different cells should be different: so IMHO (again) it will be not possible to switch from the 504 to the 700.

If the voltage is the same and it's just the capacity that changes then the 700Wh battery and 504Wh battery will be interchangeable assuming they are the same physical size.

So here are the true rumours that we know as fact (from the rumours thread). SO these are now the facts, no longer rumours. I have picked out all the stuff so we can keep it in one place.

Specialized are about to launch an all new 2019 Levo on the 18th September. Below are the full confirmed details.

The bike should feel significantly different to the 2018, with revised geometry, lighter weight and longer travel. The pricing has increased by approximately 12% across the range, so expect to be paying out a lot more dollars in return for what looks like the worlds most advanced EMTB.

Pictures have been leaking over the past few days and we are now in a position where we have an excellent idea of the bike, down to the exact specification of the Expert and S-Works model.

A few standouts that are worth calling out are the move to 29" wheels, an all new, asymmetric frame based on the 2019 Stumpjumper, an all new display on the top tube showing battery and motor modes (photo has been removed), all new way of integrating the battery into the downtime (sliding it inside the tube). The battery will be 700 Wh on the Expert and S-Works models, and 500 Wh on the other models.

Only the S-Works and Expert level are getting the increased battery. All in the range will get the new 2.1 motor.

The 700 Wh battery WILL fit into all the models. So you can buy a Comp and later a 700 Wh battery.

The new 2.1 motors are the Brose Drive S Mag motors. These offer a 15% smaller size and Specialized are mentioning an 11% weight saving.

• 2.6" Butcher Tyres (smaller than earlier 3", then 2.8" on earlier models)

• 160mm Dropper

Compatibility with the current one? Certainly not. But between the new 500 Wh and 700 Wh it makes sense.

This is what I meant. I wasn't aware the new battery was 500Wh, not 504Wh.

That's the case in NZ. base spec Levo's are in-country, but higher end (expert / SW) are Oct / Nov delivery.
I've got my name on a pair of SW for me and my wife...!

If I look at the Comp model, the upgrades are new 29er frame, new motor, new battery type and potentially upgrade-ready to 700w plus the Revelation having the charger unit and the debon air already included. Price increase is 10% - not to bad, isn´t it?

My 2018 Comp Carbon has 22kg with tubeless Butcher 27.5/2.8. The new Comp will save some weight on the frame and the motor. But what about the new battery compared to the current 504w? The 700w will probably heavier but will the 500w be about the same weight as the current one? If this is the case will the Comp be at the same weight as the expert and/or the S Works?

Any thoughts way pay 1200 EUR more for the Alu LEVO FSR COMP instead of entry LEVO FSR?
I guess redesign of the frame will only accommodate new motor and the battery, so this will be the same.
On LEVO FSR, we will probably get cheaper components, like shocks, groupset, NO Command Post and maybe cheaper wheelset.
If someone is buying aluminium version of new Levo FSR, wouldn't it be cheaper and better, just to upgrade all those components to your liking and sell the ones that came with the bike?
