I have been wanting to pull a shimano motor apart for ages, but they wouldnt let me keep the shagged old motor when i got a new one. Why did you have to take this one apart?
Depends on what type of riding you do, but if its a bit of enduro. you might need to travel abour 75-90 mins, either to the Borders or up to Dunkeld way.
Ok, cheers! I'm up for riding around that area too as I'm near Glasgow, so it's less than 90 mins from me. Hopefully by that time we can get some more members on board.
I know that i have said it on here before, but first off nobody has ever been nasty to me on the trails about this although one guy that had a moan, complaining that i was not having as much fun as everyone else on the Golfie trails near Innerleithen, not realizing that the people who he was...
I wouldnt worry about it. I have a 180mm Lyrik and minus 1.5 degree headset and its all good. Like i said elsewhere on here, it was only when i later tried a 29er wheel, the handling became a problem.
Have just binned the Hans Dampf rear, that came on my Radon swoop 29er for the same reasons and the fact that i ripped a hole and damaged the bead too. That was with an insert. did it at Cademuir. I also replaced it with a DHR2. and it seems much better so far. I think they put the Hans Dampf on...
I had to go the other way, 35mm were too harsh and caused endless arm pump, although to be fair the swap to the Spank Vibrocore prob made the biggest difference!
Yes fit is all good and i was advised by Tf tuned where i bought it from. that the TTX2 was a better option than the the Cane creek. They also took the climb platform of and replaced it with a DH mode too.
Before you go down the road of carrying a spare, would in not be better to get back to the car or van and do a swap and go back out again. This is what we do, although you might ride big loops and need a spare!
Just spotted this and yes you are right, there is a SG mark on the sidewall and the are folding tyres. They are out of stock for a few weeks now, but i will get some more in when they become available.
As far as i remember it was a shimano 36 tooth chainring that i tried, although it may have been another brand and there was no way that it would fit, just have a look at the back teeth on your 34 tooth and you will see how close to the chainstay they are.
