Haibike seem to have a frame design that limit the insertion length. I have a 2017 all mountain 7 and it comes with a 100 mm dropper. These cannot be a stealth design. Anyway, I have managed to increase to 125mm by using a 30.9 with a USE shim. Tried a 31.4mm and it will not fully insert. Bought...
2.6 size should be fine, but dont go any bigger. I know of a couple of people who have still destroyed wheels with cushcores, but maybe they ride differently to you.
In my experience of trying a few options, for inserts, the Vittoria air liners are the only ones strong enough for an e bike.
X up not really my thing, but I hear what you are saying about turn radius and thought about that myself before, as I ride some of the same places you do, like golfie, thornilee and dunkeld, where it can get pretty tight sometimes. Only reason I was thinking about it was for steering precision...
Good point and i have thinking about putting 180mm Boxxers on my Merida E 160. Already running 180mm Lyriks with a Works angle headset, so geo should not be a problem. Only issue i can see is that triple clamp forks still run 1/1/8th steerer tubes. Has anyone else figured this one out?
Although there are problems with this bike as you pointed out, i still think this is the way to go in the future with ebikes, Lighter and minimalist. I think the bikes like the Haibike Flyon are going in the wrong direction. Too heavy and full of things that just seem to get in the way, like the...
Mine did that too and so did 2 other friends. we all ended up with reverb droppers with under bar leavers and problem solved. You will need to bin the shifter paddles too though and get the E 7000 controller. The cables get contaminated and they stiffen up.
Was going to go but will be heading to dunkeld with a few of the guys and we will be on clockwork bikes. Will be there just before 9.30am at the train station car park.
