Talking of walk assist, I found on the demo bike that it hardly worked. It was very feeble to the point of being useless.
going in to place my order for a carbon comp this mornin. Will get them to replace drive train and brakes with SLX.
A suspension specialist I spoke to said when asked “what 150mm travel fork should I go for“ he said “pick which ever is your favourite colour, they’re all excellent“.
The noise isn’t a dealbreaker for me but I’d be happier if it was a tad quieter. Still undecided on an SL or a Whyte 150. Hoping to get a demo ride on Whyte next week.
Those of you who've had time to put some decent miles on the motor, have you noticed an increase or decrease in whine from the motors gears? My Lbs said it would quite down after more miles as the gears bed in. Sounds plausible to me.
I’m pretty ocd with chain and sprockets and buy two chains and rotate every 300 miles, Bung the dirty one in a tin with diesel and white spirit. Put a lid on and shake for a few seconds, repeat until no grit in the mix.( I lube and clean after most rides but not as thorough as this)
I put the...
First thing I noticed when riding a demo SL was how bad the cable for rear brake was routed. Bugger you can’t change it. It was worse once I’d moved the brake lever in board to stop the dropper post trigger hitting my hand while riding. Shortening the cable would of been my only option then?
I agree! you can still get a good workout on a Levo. That’s one think I really like about the mission Control app. You can have as hard or as easy a ride as takes your fancy On a Levo. The SL will be more of a workout every ride but you can still have a much easier ride than an un powered Mtb...
Exactly the same here. When I’m on it I’m up with the racing snakes in their 30s and 40s (I’m 58) but the last few years I’ve noticed I’m the one at the back on climbs and not enjoying it.
like you I have a physical job and I’ve decided on an ebike to help get the enjoyment back. I’ve tried both...
There’s a demo day near here beginning of April but I’m hoping to be up and running by then. it’ll be my first e bike and really looking forward to it. Too many fit gits ride with me and I’m beginning to strugle.
As anyone bought an E 150rs or other Whyte since December and what was the waiting time between ordering and receiving?
my local lbs is hoping to get a demo bike down for me to try but I want to be riding before end of March (if it stops raining ??♂️)
Absolutely hideous out! sleet, hail , snow, rain, wind in no particular order. Sun came out too for about 10seconds. I Don’t mind riding in muddy conditions for a couple of rides then it becomes a chore with cleaning and lubing, not to mention freezing cold hoseing my self down. On the plus...
Didn’t know there was one on! I had a demo down in Plymouth and had it over a Weekend. Let us know what you thought. I did Lanhydrock and cardinham as well as local trails. Very enjoyable ?
Great idea. early Spring time the trails are at there best (before the brambles and Bracken take over) but great riding all year round if you don’t mind mud and bramble rash. We look like self harmers after some of our rides ?
