I went with 160's, keeps cadence a bit higher, and less worry about pedal strikes if you ride a ton of really rocky terrain which is what I ride. I wouldn't recommend it if you ride more flowy or flatter terrain as you do lose leverage and top end speed.
It definitely isn't a stiff rear end. I did have play in my Main pivot linkages from factory which I just noticed before my last ride. If you grabbbed the linkages at the seat tube you could move them back and forth a few millimeters. I just loosened the link bolt and used the purple preload...
TBH I just preferred the display size as it compares to the Garmin 1030 I use on my regular bikes. I do use the routes for the GPS Nav when planning new rides. The custom modes I never used much...never took the time to mess with them. Didn't like how it was only customizeable through speed...
From the factory I upgraded to factory suspension and XT 4piston brakes. I’ve now added one up 210mm droppper, XT 160mm cranks, Raceface Next R bars/Turbine R stem/Next R32 Carbon hoops, SRAM X01 Driverrain shifter/chain/cassette, specialized power pro elaston saddle, Magura MDR-P 220/203...
H15 is 150 up front, h30 140. H15 has burlier suspension w/ float X/Fox 36. H30 w/ DPS/Bomber Z2 with 34mm stanchions. Geo cart for the H15 is incorrect ....
Just received my m8150’s from Ridewill.it. It only took a few days from Italy to arrive. I actually had no issue with my e13 cranks except I like running 160’s on my eMTB’s. I actually prefer the look of the e13’s tbh. I run e13’s on my rail as well.
Which H model did you get? I'm 155kg in gear and got 33km and 1250m climbing in 80% trail 20% Eco with it set @ 51nm & assist level 6. My Rise is a lrg H15 weighs 20.17kg but swapped just about every part but cranks...some heavier parts and some lighter.
If Orbea is gonna put a bigger Battery in a bike I'd guess it would be a modern geo Wild or e-Rallon style long travel enduro rig. 455 reach on a lrg wild is mega outdated and with Bosch's smart system out, it would be the platform to update. imho
I run 160's on my Rail, and 170 on my regular bikes at 6' tall only because the carbon cranks I run with SRAM drivetrains only came in 170. (X01.Next R). If I ran ALu cranks w/ SRAM or Shimano i'd go 165. I prefer shorter cranks. I'm gonna swap to 160 on my Rise as well. The loss in...
I’m over 300lbs and have zero issues braking regardless how steep, fast, and rocky it is. I have XT’s on 3 of my bikes and Maguras on one. For me the trade off in maintenance doesn’t out weight the performance difference. I won’t get Magura again but that’s just me.
I have MT-7's on my Trek Rail. Love the power and feel but hate the need to bleed them more frequently. Twice in a year I had to do a full bleed because they started to fail and just lose power. lever bleed on the XT's so much easier
TBH, once I had it set up and understood that once the ride ends u have to leave the bike on and depending on how long the ride was turn the bike back on until data finally transmits to the phone app I haven’t had any issues. Not the most intuitive immediate transfer, but I haven’t had an issue...
