I run a 230x65mm DHX2, The Black steel springs are a lot longer than the SLS springs. I run a 67mm 700lb spring @ 300lbs, could even go to 650 as the 700lb spring was great even at 340lbs..
If you have the Thrushaft then probably similar performance but compared to the standard Deluxe that was on my Rail 7....it was a lot better. I only ran the DPX2 for a month until I swapped to a 21' DHX2
Current Carbon wheels 1830g. 60+ rides no inserts w/ zero issues in really rocky terrain. Previous alloy wheels @ 1900 grams went 3 rides on the same trails before non-repairable rim damage. Both wheels sets had same 30id, tires, & tire pressure. Personally I’ll take good carbon all day on...
I'm sure there are tons of containers with 2021 models across all brands that have been stuck on ships for months and months. I've even heard of ships stuck off shore for 3 months or more just waiting to be unloaded.....
If you have an Aluminum Rail you can long stroke the rear shock up to 65mm and get 169mm rear travel. I run my Rail 7 with a DHX2 230x65mm Rear and a Trust Shout linkage fork with 178mm front travel.
I'm gonna build up a set of Nobl Tr32's for my Transition Spur I have on order....Either DT Swiss 180's or 240's w/ sapim CX Rays, so pretty light, ~1350g set. I plan on running a bit beefier suspension since i'm a big guy but don't think It'll be a big issue as this bike is more for longer...
My last 5 wheelsets on three bikes, 3 carbon, 2 alloy. 2 alloys on a total of 17 rides and both rear rims damaged beyond repair. 3 others are Santa Cruz Reserve Carbons. Combined 400+ rides on the same trails without issue, surface scratches, big rock strikes, all still run true. Carbon all...
60mm should be fine, original RS hardware works if you remove the preinstalled plastic IGUS bushings off of the Fox shock and press out the thin metal DU bushings out of the RS shock.
Remove:
Reuse from RS:
My rear shuddered at first but it eventually went away. MDR-p's seems to be more difficult to bed in than other rotors. Recently cleaned the pads and front rotor and it did the same for a few rides
No cheap lights here, Top of the line Light and Motion Seca 2500 and Niterider 4200….both tested to be accurate ratings and brighter than most on the market even if u don’t approve of the scale… to ride 20-30mph downhill in the dead of night and still feel safe works for me.
There were a few people posting about cracking the stock one. I posted this for those guys that were looking.... This one won't crack and need to be replaced more then once. I guess they bash into rocks a bit more than you do. Anyways I have $10k into my Rail, which I think is about £7250...
