I recommend going away from 12 speed. It's not needed on an ebike and to delicate of a system to work long term. I would change your drive train to 11 speed shimano xt. A lot less problems and cheaper in the long run.
I am 5'8", I feel the cockpit is a little short on the bike. Fortunately, I like it like that but I think a lot people would prefer to be more stretched out over the bike.
The X2 only comes in a 210x55mm. The shock length is the same. The 55mm vs 52.5 means the shock compression is 2.5mm more. When I had the X2 on the bike, I let out all the air and moved the bike through it's full stroke to see if the bike would compress to far and have an issue. It did not. The...
Shimano M8120, 4 piston brakes that work well and easy to do maintenance on at a reason able price. I would be interested in checking out the Magura MT7. I know lots of people rave about this brake. I already knew how to work on and maintain the shimano brakes which swayed me to keep with the xt...
I was wondering what is the size of your frame? I tried fitting the X2 on my medium frame with the extender. It would not fit, a least without some serious modifications.
Dropping the water bottle cage will cause another issue. The cord is surprisingly stiff and if you don't have the water bottle cage at the correct height, it makes plugging and unplugging the cord difficult.
The X2 shock does not work with the range extender on medium SL. The reservoir interferes with the the external battery. It might be possible to carve out part of the battery case to make it work but more hassle then it's worth. I will be returning the X2 and getting the DPX2 instead.
The fox 36 feels great, I run a little less air then recommend by Fox, bike feels plush but stable. The fork came off a Specialized enduro and is the same specs as the Levo SL, 150mm travel with 51mm offset. I think the 150mm travel is just fine for this bike. The 160mm might be an issue...
Hi Jeff,
100 miles on the bike and not an issue so far. I have checked it a few times to see if the magnet had come loose and it has not. I used a pair of pliers and went a 1/4 turn past hand tight on the initial install. I have ordered a spare cat eye speed sensor and I will carry in my pack...
I have an X2 210x55mm sitting in a box waiting to be installed. Not sure if it's going to be an issue with the range extender. When I have some time I will install it. I was hoping to see some pictures of one installed before I start.
