The build was not about weight, it was about feel and function. The tires are EXO+. The heaviest weight is the stock Carbon comp, other two photos are post build with and without the range extender. See weights below:
I thought I would share my Levo SL shimano build. I don't care for Sram components except the AXS seat post so I decided to buy the SL carbon comp and then do a full custom build on the bike. I installed 11speed instead of 12. I feel on the ebike it's unnecessary and not a good fit. 12 speed is...
The new shimano XT8120 and XTR9120 are both killer. I recommend semi-metallic pads especially for ebikes. I hate Sram stuff except the AXS seat post. Switched the bike to all shimano brakes and drivetrain.
Upgraded the brakes to XTR M9120 with XTR 200mm centerlock rotors front and rear. When going from 6 bolt hubs to centerlock hubs, I lost the ability to mount the magnet and needed to come up with a solution. Thought I would share this hack with the group on how to attach the magnet for...
I agree! I will be doing a similar build as well. Putting a Fox 36 grip2, X2 shock and switching the drivetrain and brakes to Shimano XT. Only Sram part will be an AXS seat post. What shock are you thinking about putting on the bike?
Looking forward to the finish product. Rarely do you see someone completely dismantle a new bike to make it totally custom. I like your sense of adventure!
All Levo and Levo SL frames seat post tubes are 34.9mm. Levo SL bike that come with AXS 30.9mm seat post have a shim to make up the difference in size.
I agree, but the custom build will be a lot sicker then the factory build:
Rims - 29" Reserve 30 rims with Industry 9 hubs
Maxxis Tires 2.5 Assegai EXO front and 2.4 rear DHR II EXO with Cushcore
Enve Bars with a Industry 9 stem
XT 4 piston brakes with IceTech 203mm rotors front and rear
AXS...
I agree with upgrading the Levo SL, but why not start with the SL carbon comp over the SL S-works. It's the same frame and motor, save the $6K and then build a custom bike. I prefer Shimano build over Sram, that's my plan.
The release of the Levo SL, changes everything. Specialized seems to keep setting the bar and no one is catching up. A Santa Cruz with a E8000 and 504W battery is not going to do it.
To Botts101 question regarding replacing the rear brake line: I installed new XT 4 piston brakes on my 2020 Levo. I prefer Shimano over Sram. I used the connector below to help pull and push at the same time to install the new brake line. Cut the original brake line at the rear brake lever...
Google boot dryer, I use one all the time to dry my riding shoes and surf booties.
Kendal shoes, boots, glove, dryer is my favorite.

I am running the SC Reserve 30 29" rims with Industry 9 hubs on my 2020 Levo Expert, tubeless with Cushcore. Maxxis Aggressor 2.5 in the front and DHR 2.4 in the rear. Loving it!
I have taken the cranks off before, they feel like they are a tapered fit. I would try putting a puller such as a battery or steer wheel puller on the crank to see if it will come off. Then if the bolt is hollow, you can use a screw extractor. If not, then drill into the bolt and then use the...
I am thinking since you snapped the bolt, you should be able to pull off the crank to see what's going on behind it. Then use a screw extractor to remove the remaining bolt. It will not come out easily because the bolt has loctite material on it. Hope that helps!
