I assume that the dropper body is as far into the seat tube as it can be. Lower your saddle until it is a comfortable riding height for flat smooth terrain. Measure the amount of exposed dropper stanchion. Take that as your guide, go slightly lower if necessary.
For example, if you measure...
@Auld_fella Welcome to the Forum. :)
I too had dodgy knees before buying my first emtb. I was down to 10 miles on fairly flat terrain on my mtb and then needed 3 days to recover! With my emtb I can now easily do 2-3 times that and do it every day. The bonus is that because I am no longer...
You really MUST experiment with the app.
I met a rider last year ( @Davvee ) and he was disappointed with his Mega. He thought it would have had more "oomph". I showed him how to use the app to change the settings. I moved the "Assistance Character" from 3 to 8 (out of 10). "Assistance...
@AmyC I agree with what @RustyIron said. Of course the average man is a different shape to the average man of the same height! But then most men are a different shape to the average man of the same height. We have different length arms or different length legs for the same height. That means the...
You didn't give a year in your original post, which is why I gave dates on my reply. As far as I can tell, Focus do not give bearing sizes on their exploded views, just the apart numbers of bearing kits. Here is the one for the 2019 bike (mine). You can compare.
I never knew that they were called a "spoke guard". I had always known them as a "dork disc". :)
When I say "always", I mean that it's the only name I have ever known them by, I can't remember for how long that would be.
Does the axle have an adjustment so that you can get the correct torque, but still have the lever in the place you want it to be? As a clue, the shaft near the head might have indicator lines painted on.
No matter how neglected the bike has been, how does he not have the charger? Are you sure that your mate came upon the bike honestly? The last thing you want is to spend money on the bike and then have someone identify it as theirs and demand it back!
On my Merida eOne-Sixty I have an aluminium wheelset called "DT Swiss Spline HX1501 SPLINE ONE 30 boost" (29/27.5 mullet). Pick the bones out of that to get which 30mm internal rim width rim that you want. It has been faultless. If they do a wider rim, that may be worth your cash.
Here we go:
This was generated in Dec'20 for my Focus Jam2 2019, with the 140mm rear travel. I got the bearings from TrailVision, who I highly recommend. Very helpful website, fast delivery and competitive prices when I looked in Dec'20 and since.

Yep! Imagine pausing at the top of a big drop to see if you fancy having a go and it suddenly delivers power........and takes the decision out of your hands!! Yikes!
Loctite Blue is not a permanent adhesive, it is a threadlock designed to resist components loosening under vibration. You can use with confidence that you will be able to remove your wheel later! You can buy it in small sticks that look a bit like a lipstick. It is a semi solid paste (blue) that...
It will alter the geometry of the bike. It will make it slacker and easier descending, but harder to climb. 180 feels a bit like overkill to me, I'd go 160.
Warranty claim then. Ignore the fact that you have filed off some burrs, it is irrelevant to your claim, the rivet was missing before and is still missing.
