I see. There is nothing worse than having no confidence in your tyres, especially the front one! You have to buy some different ones! :)
I have never ridden an Eddy Current, so I cannot give any experienced-based advice. But I have only read good stuff about the ECs. However, based upon my own...
Nope, never heard of it. I tried petrol in desperation only to find it worked very well indeed. I posted on the problem at the time and lots of different solvents that definitely worked were proposed.
Here is a link to the post. It proved to be well read, over 100 posts...
Well, that is four definites, me, @myapes, @Davvee and @weiran
And two maybes: @Rahr85, @DaveDog
I am joking by the way about that "Beyond Expert" video in the above post.
Any Shimano dealer I would have thought.
You could get the spec of the bolts from Shimano Tech Docs and then Google the part number.
If neither of those appeal to you, remove one bolt, measure it (including the thread) and Google it. Don't rule out buying a longer one and shortening it.
What pisses me off about this topic is when other illegal trail builders (like me) use the materials that I have collected and incorporated into my own features to build their own! Don't be a dick, don't rob materials from other features! I am not saying that you would do, but don't be one of...
@Lowrance If it is flat tyres that are your problem, the go tubeless and although you will still get punctures, you will never* get another flat.
Note* By never, I mean maybe for years.
I believe that even novice riders can buy a 6k bike and then take it back after a few weeks and expect the retailer to sort out the problems. It sounds like a safety-first policy by the manufacturers, after all they can't cost much to supply and fit.
You can still ride a Black Diamond, with all those problems? Shit! I am (mostly) sound and my limit is basic Blacks!
PS: I am sorry to hear of your past problem; your habilitation route sounds horrendous. But bloody well done! (y)
There are so many different bikes out there and with so many models that you have to be inventive to get a review for the rarer ones.
There are reviews for other models, like the level R for example. I haven't looked to be certain, but I'm guessing that the XR is better equipped than the R...
I used to swear by Gorilla tape and recommended it to all and sundry. Easy to apply, looks great and very effective, what's not to like!
That is until I could not get my tyres off! The latex sealant in the tyres had reacted with the Gorilla Tape adhesive and glued the tyre to the rim! It took...
A dropper post will solve that problem! When coming to a stop, just let the seat down at the pull of the remote and down you go by an amount equal to the dropper travel. When you set off, take your weight off the saddle and up it comes to your preset perfect riding position.
The bigger problem...
Once, when I bought a bike I asked the sakes guy "why fit the crappy little bell, the front and rear reflectors and the dork disc"?
He told me that the dork disc was fitted by the manufacturer and he didn't know why, but the bell and lights were a legal requirement in the UK.

We have all seen the equation N=N+1, where N = the ideal number of bikes that we need for happiness.
But there is also S=S-1, where S = the number of bikes I can own without my wife divorcing me!
I need a unifying theory of bike ownership!
