Is the 230x 57.5 a rare size? I'm looking in the second hand sites locally for a X2 or RS super deluxe or coil & it seems there's everything but that size. Or is it a very common size & they get snapped up as soon as they come on the market???
I have made the mistake this week of letting my wife ride my Rail 7 while we are away on holiday - she seems to think it's hers now & I get the analogue. Unfortunately the prices of these have gone through the roof. The 5 is selling for what I bought the 7 for 6 months ago so I think a bafang...
Does increasing LSC affect small bump compliance? To have the fork as plush as can be do you leave the LSC open? If you do increase when does it come more into play- at half compression?
Hmmm down here on holiday for a week so worth a trip over to check it out you think? It's different riding down here compared to Nelson - I'm used to riding with the brakes on all the time - Also, are googles compulsory down here or something- everyone up at skyline was wearing them?
Sounds similar to my experience. I also found I could 'rail' the bike far faster around berms which I put down to the tyre keeping it's shape. I run 18ish PSI & weigh 85 & found it great for small bump compliance along with one up carbons. Strange they damaged your tyres? Crappy stock ones?

I think what may have happened is when you have pushed the seatpost down you have coiled the cable inside the tube or the barrel on the end of the cable may have come off the actuator. I found with mucking around when installing a new one is you have to remove the battery, loosen the cable...
I used a product called spraybike. It is kinda like a powdercoating in a can, as in you spray it 50mms from the frame & it dries pretty quickly. Pretty easy to do & no runs with it & touch ups easy peasy. Been on about 6mnths & there are some chips (even the trek paint underneath has chipped off...
Besides which frames with bent downtubes look very sexy. Frames with straight ones look like they should have v brakes. Mind you, you know how I feel about the Trek aesthetic designers:sneaky:
Maybe an emtb isn't for you - no shame in not liking them or prefering an analogue bike. Most of us have them because the hills were gettng too hard, injuries, old age etc. I hear what you are saying about the lack of suffering & I used to feel guilty about not earning the downhills or passing...
