My experience is that I've not seen such feature in the Bosch diagnostic software and I guess the system would throw an ERROR 504. I'm not saying that 100% it wouldn't exist but I've not yet seen it.
I think Bosch might want to balance between fulfilling EU (etc.) regulations and not bothering...
If it was sensor or electrical problem you would have problems in all modes and some error codes.
I would go to LBS and update the software or reinstall it.
Could you describe more precisely how the mode doesn't work?
It doesn't assist at all? Assistant is not consistent? Some other symptons?
So to add something to the thread I've run almost all the time with Volspeed V3 and had the latest firmware updates. I've not had single error code. Based on Strava rides my top 20min speed is often under 30kmh.
What could be speculated is the torque sensor failure, but I think it had more to...
Anyone has any experience on good quality barmitts or pogies or whatever one calls them?
It's getting a little too cold outside for riding (-19'C) and my previous experience using barmitts with motorcycles has been good.
I've understood that the main functionality in like Volspeed is to modify rear wheel speed sensor data to motor so that the motor thinks you are riding all the time under the max assistance level for example 25kmh.
So where and how would the motor see that you are riding powered over the max...
Would you like to open how technically this is possible in case that for example the speedbox/volspeed is not installed when the bike is being serviced?
I think shops don’t have this capability currently.
Everything is better in Rail 7: Suspension, wheels, transmission, brakes.
I could have avoid lot's of upgrades with Rail 7. On the other hand after several upgrades (forced to buy new parts when original ones broke)I have now kind of Rail 9 spec bike with the price of the Rail 7.
Now I have...
For some reason I didn't understand what you try to say:
Do you mean that it doesn't make sense to buy a DH-bike for just 1000kms in bikepark or....
Do you meant that for 1000km per year in bikepark the Rail is good enough?
Btw. I just bought a downhill bike for the next summer. One reason was...
You will have no problem with the latest firmware and Volspeed V3, but you WILL have problem with the 510 ERROR if you don't update the firmware when you already have had the symptoms.
I have a feeling that it doesn't have any relation to magnetic fields outside the bike.
The official comment from Bosch is still that this has been fixed with firmware update.
What model do you have? Any pics?
Some have a nut on other side and you have to use long socket to remove it first. The actual freehub might need special tool if you want to open it and see couple of rusty bearings.
Have you thought about filing a complaint against Bosch and demand compensation for your disappointment?
There are many of us who continue riding our bikes despite new models keep popping up every year. You are not alone. We can unite and fight against these evil commercial companies.
