I believe you will have to go to a shop. It is required to use the box Shimano SM-PCE2 to connect the bike to a PC running Etube for Windows and have Shimano or the bike manufacturer connect remotely to your bike to setup the motor angle and wheel circumference.
Or get Stunlocker premium...
Which FW was updated ?
Battery or EP8?
Can you please post the new version number
I ask this because if the Battery FW is not updated and the battery is moved to another bike, then the battery health will be the old one.
Try to find the magnet from somebody who has the motor with the electronic killed, so the mechanical parts are still in good shape. Try @Bearing Man , he may have parts to sell. Good Luck!!!
BTW, Shame on Shimano for not selling motor spare parts and force us to throw away good motors for any...
Look for a mate that has the box Shimano SM-PCE02, then use an older etube Version 4.0.3 that still has the Battery Health checking, print the report and send to Shimano together with the battery.
Yes, let us know please. And don't tell Shimano if you use Stunlocker to check the battery, they may void the warranty.
What was the previous Battery Health?
Did it just go down to 76% at 89 Cycles?
Mine is at 87% since 20 cycles, now is at 28 cycles
Sometime ago it was posted this picture. @johnynl was taking parts from a "donor" motor to fix his motor, and he found that these boards had different Revision Number and different ICs, but they were equivalent and he fixed his faulty motor by replacing the electronic PCB from the donor motor.
This was posted in a spanish forum, but not confirmed. To confirm this it would be enough to have close up picture of this PCB where the text reference in the black Integrated Circuits can be read, but I do not have it.
My E8000 is running strong so I have not had the need to open it to replace the bearings or whatever, but this thread is very interesting and I am following it just in case I have to open my motor. While reading the thread I am trying to understand how the motor works and I have put together...
The grey ring magnet looks like a magnet for a Hall sensor for cadence and crank position.
The 2 sensors buried in black putty look like the strain gauge sensors that are connected to the rotating PCB, that communicates wirelessly (NFC?) with small fixed PCB
I also have not tested this. I said the above in September, and at that time it looked like a good assumption, but since that time, other forum members have shown new opinions and assumptions, but as far as I know nobody has tested it. So let's be in the safe side and assume for now that the...
In another thread it was said another type of reset:" The eByke tech did start up, and then he quickly pushed the power button three times. He told me that was a re-set."
E8000 and EP8 have the same mounting holes, but covers are slightly different so some frames with E8000 may not be compatible with EP8, so check that yours is. Also, EP8 uses thinner cables and connectors for display, speed sensor and DI2 that will require new cables and adapters
Yo do not...
