Few pics from my ride on saturday here, was so nice for a good frost, made the ground alot faster 70K Louth into the Wolds - Nick Olphert's 43.6 mi bike ride
yeah agreed, had them on the front and i really didn't like them, unpredictable wash outs were regular!! willing to try on rear for a few rides. Got a few other options in the garage, trying my hardest not to purchase too much at the moment.
Ha Ha mines come off tonight, easy getting off DT 1501's (40mm) got a nearly new nobby nic apex in garage so going to try that at weekend. Heard there not too bad as a rear tyre, bit slidey but predictable. Gotta be better than the black ice feel of the eddy.
Mary front, Eddy rear and in the Wet muddy Lincolnshire Wolds the Eddy is awful, its coming off this week and will be saved for drier weather. I'm sure it will be as tough as old boots or i certainly hope it is cos you've got no chance of reseating if the beads come off!!!
i use one of these when im out with the van, more than powerful enough, use a free 25L container bargain!! Portable 12V Car High Pressure Washer Water Pump Kit Jet Wash Cleaner Hose Van | eBay
for anyone interested, i used the van batteries to charge my ebike batteries. 2 shimano 8010 504wh batteries were used.

this was after 2 rides using both batteries and charged up on the same van charge 127Ah was used. For this test i used the newer and slower...
Thanks, everything is sound deadened(deadmat hex) and insulated. Ceiling, floor and rear is insulated using dodomat superliner 12mm sticky back stuff and the doors and sides also use dodomat thermo fleece and then ply lined over the top before carpeting.
the stand thing works well, there fixed...
Thanks, i enjoyed building it and learned alot. still doing bits as i go, dropped the fuel tank today to put an auxiliary fuel line in for the heater, really dont like working under vehicles but got there in the end.
oh if anyone has any tips to get rid of the carpet spray adhesive residue...
So just after the 1st lockdown i decided to buy my self a van to convert. I did have an estate car but did not want to leave my emtb on the back even locked up. Often go to the lakes etc for long weekends hiking in the mountains but i've never taken my bike which influenced my decision to get a...
Yeah your right was just going on max as i'm not sure on overall max charger usage unless it's just a case of size of bike battery, so in my case for shimano
504÷80%÷50%÷12 and that would equal 105ah leisure battery??
Shouldn't really drain leisure batteries past 50% as it will reduce lifespan considerably. My charger runs at 180w at max, if it ran at this for the the full 4 hrs taking into account the inverter inefficiency(80%) and depth of discharge rate (50%) I'd need a 150ah battery to charge once...
I've a 180ah battery in my van and this allows me to charge my bike once off grid and still power lights, laptops etc. This is with a shimano 504wh system which uses 180w at peak
Always put my sealant straight in the tyre, rebead, half a cup of water a really good squirt of fairy, use a pastry brush and soap up both beads, take core out and i use track pump, go slow and get bubbles forming then pump fast until seated, remove pump, replace core and set pressures.
Ease of...
Nearly always leave it till lights go out. It does get flattened every ride.its in the shop for a test tomoz so I'll see how that goes. Will also do a like for like test at the wkend with both batteries. Thanks for the input chaps ;)
got my race van all done so thought it time to take my bike to the lake district. Had some fun out with the mrs but she'd had enough as she ended up pushing rather than riding. So I went off on my own, sorted a nice loop but only 6 miles in and about 1500ft of climbing I was down to just 2...
