    whyte e180 rs

Update: Went with option 2 and plan to run the pg-1230 cassette and depending on the longevity of it will then decide if i just keep that going for the forseeable. If i kill the rear mech or shifter in the meantime then i'll just go 1x10 deore for low cost. Running a maxxterra compound tyre on...

    Post Us Dog' In Pictures

unfortunately a mix of age and health related issues means only 1 of them is really suitable to come along for a normal ride. love them to bits.

    Gamers thread

Gamer is quite a loose term but i think i grew up just as it all started to kick off with online gaming. Mostly been a PC gamer since around 1999 playing online shooters but as i got a bit older and a lot less competitive tended to play a lot more racing and mmorpg games. When the first...

    Transporting bike complete Inside car

there's no way that's any easier than removing and reattaching the front wheel. but i guess it does fit. shame i can't do the same with mine. good thing about it being wedged in like that is that it is very unlikely to go anywhere in a crash.

    Unanswered Higher pressures on emtb?

Pressure is very variable and also related to the durability of the tyre casing and the conditions you are riding in, along with your riding style and your weight. (and altitude as atmospheric pressure changes) I generally run around 25 psi front (1.7bar) and 28 psi rear ( 1.9 bar) in 2.5/2.6"...

Not a complaint! Just an eye opener!

I've been through 2 sets of brakes but the 2nd set were the nukeproof sintered ones which felt great all the way down to needing replaced from heavy wear. The weather and riding far more aggresively down steeper trails have been the main reason i'm using more than i'm used to.

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

If you can get the one you want in maxxgrip for both ends it would be the optimal tyre but it's not always that simple. I don't feel like i need the max grip as i'm probably not even pushing close to 80% of what the maxxterra offers.

Bought a Acoustic to keep myself honest!!

They can have their hardtails. I just want a bike that will smash everything into the ground.

    Shared trail etiquette

That's not the issue, i'm aware of the law and will always assume i will need to come to a stop/walking pace if there is no sign of my presence being acknowledged. Between normally just a friendly greeting and the noise of my bike freewheeling i'm fine. The issue seems to be the attitude that we...

Bought a Acoustic to keep myself honest!!

All my friends have started buying hardtails for some reason. Most have full suspension bikes. So there will undoubtably be some rides where they are all on hardtails and i'm looking like the very overbiked idiot with my monster truck. :D I can't justify another bike, i sold my hardtail and...

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

Current setup after wearing through the rear assegai maxxgrip 2.6" x 27.5 3c MaxxTerra Exo+ 2.5" x 27.5 3c MaxxTerra Exo+ Didn't want to risk tearing apart a mud specific tyre as shown earlier as i do ride a lot of tarmac which is almost the main reason the maxxgrip tyre that came with the...

    Shared trail etiquette

So time to prod the hornets nest having read pieces dotted about the forum I've noticed recently an increase in hatred towards cyclists from anyone else sharing trails (old railway lines etc) and heard on 5 live a segment where people were complaining about cyclists/runners coming past as if...

Yeah. Had it until the end of the pcp deal, bought it outright then did a remap, its a much better car as a result with the dsg. Actually quite fun around donington Park.

    Transporting bike complete Inside car

Ideally i'd have a small van or bigger estate. But i love my octavia and it's hard to justify ditching the wife's hatchback for something more expensive. For the sake of removing the front wheel (which i can do with the bike sat in the car, front wheel overhanging) i think i can put up with it...

    Transporting bike complete Inside car

Not quite. Octavia Estate. There's length left to move back but there isn't the width to get the front wheel in past the cars wheel arch to get the bars rotated enough to not smash the rear window. :D

    Transporting bike complete Inside car

I can't imagine many will fit in a kuga without taking off the front wheel. It has a similar loading bay to a focus. My whyte doesn't fit in my car (not a ford) because the height from the floor to the top of the handlebars is more than my old giant which did just fit into the boot fully...
