    Cassette play

Do you know if it is the sram xd driver or shimano freehub? The nx Eagle uses a different freehub from the rest of the line up And stupid question... But is the play only present with the wheel off the bike? I only ask because this was the first xd driver I had and panicked when I could remove...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

DT Swiss adapter to run shimano freehub New Rear Cassette New Chain + Chainring New front 2.6" assegai tyre Volume reducers for front fork and shock I think that's it.

Cost theory of EBikes by weight.

Going back entirely to the first post. Apart from a few specific "boutique" bike brands i can't say that i think that the emtb's in particular are excessively expensive for what they are. When you factor in the cost of components and the overheads that any sort of decent sized company have...

Did the Bingley Bash Yesterday, anyone else ridden it? great little course

Can't say i've ever wanted to ride through water on this bike, what with there being electrics involved. Puddles etc are a different story as the majority gets splashed out of the way by the tyres and then frame.

Sram Eagle GX chain and cassette issue?

My gx Eagle xg-1275 has done 1361km and is on its second chain. Its now too worn to get away with another but its not skipping gears yet. I'm going to downgrade to a shimano freehub and eventually go 1x10 deore as I can forsee myself doing a lot of miles and don't really need the full range...

    whyte e180 rs

So the casette is now worn to the point that a new chain will no longer work without skipping badly. Time to decide what to do whilst i run the current chain/cassette into the ground. I have done 515.9 miles this month so it is an inevitability. Option 1: Replace cassette like for like (ish -...

    Finally a E160 RS

I'm sure you'll enjoy the bike. I'm just a smidge over 5'10" and went for the medium on the 180. Reach is the same on both models. It's annoying being on the cusp of both sizes but i think it comes more down to what you like to do. I went medium purely because i knew i would like to try and get...

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

Similar to the same argument on cars. There is a point where the extra performance isn't noticeable by the normal person. I've not had the misfortune yet of washing out the front but for some reason whyte wanted to make it more likely by having a maxxgrip compound on the rear but maxxterra on...

Poll: ?? ? or ? out on the single tracks?

When i'm on my own i often have my bluetooth earphones in, 90% for the music (or radio) and 10% for the ability to receive a call whilst my phone is tucked away in my bag. The volume is easily adjusted so i can still hear what is happening around me and i feel that it helps me keep a good tempo...

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

I'm actually quite curious as to how much of a difference there actually is between the compounds for more human riders. My bike came with the maxxterra assegai 2.5" on the front and i can't even once think of a time where i felt there needed to be more grip. I'm replacing it with a 2.6" mainly...

What's been the most Helpful Upgrade to your Whyte?

I've had my bike up on the bike stand a couple of times but i'm really not happy having it hanging off of the seat post either. There's no alternative option in terms of mounting position. If i am working on the bike i either have it upside down on the floor or if just cleaning/chain lubing i'm...

    Invisiframe with isopropyl

As everything has already been covered i'm merely adding to the conversation. This was one of the options i had considered, then after watching videos etc decided the level of patience/time wasn't for me so chose to pay someone else to fit it. Added to this i didn't have a "clean" area that...

    Oculus (Meta) Quest 2

I think beat saber shines best on the pc because of the modding community and the ability to just add hundreds of your own choice of music. There's even some fairly clever AI that can generate a map (results vary) from youtube videos. Beat Sage: Custom Beat Saber Level Generator But it's still...

    Oculus (Meta) Quest 2

Beat Saber. It's the most fun indoor aerobic activity possible. I dabbled in VR but pc based with the rift during lockdown last year. Between beat saber and racing sims (using a wheel + pedals) it was awesome. The only real benefit a quest would have had for me would be no wire getting in the...

    whyte e180 rs

Yeah that's what i have both in 2.5". But it makes no sense at all to me to have the grippier tyre on the rear. Tougher casing makes perfect sense. Last thing i want is the front end washing out before the rear starts to go.

    whyte e180 rs

So this is a weird one, looking at the spec sheet for the bike it should have come with 2x assegai maxx terra with the rear being the double down casing. However it seems like mine got the super soft maxx grip tyre on the rear. Which explains the excessive wear. I'd never really noticed as there...
