I haven't really considered the kiox as i run with a garmin that i had before the bike, otherwise it would be a good upgrade. Probably change to it if i ever break the purion.
The crank arms come off easily enough on this, i just wasn't sure how it was done and didn't have the correct tool.
The real issue is making sure they stay on after, those bolts need tightened up a lot.
Feeling a bit disappointed in the answers but a little bit more info is needed.
Do you want/need full suspension?
What sort of terrain are you planning on using it? Any intention to do jumps or drops or really rough terrain?
Do you need to be able to do a lot of elevation or long rides (needing...
volspeed :p did a 42.7 mile trip today about 80% of it in eco as it is no longer incredibly tedious on the flat being held back.
but if we are just talking stuff we have changed/added:
nukeproof stem top cap mount
Nukeproof sintered pads
DMR deathgrips having also tried the ergon GE1 evo and...
Yeah it's getting flattened. There's plenty of other places nearby if you know them but pines is actually good for practicing without all the time wasted getting back to the top.
what you did looks better, i looked at it when i changed the handlebars over but the prospect of sorting it made me want to go find something else to do :D
as you can see from above i looked at tidying the cables but then realised the only way to truly sort it would be to shorten almost all of them, and ain't nobody got time (skill) for that.
Yeah it was Newstead. Today I rode around the North of Mansfield to sherwood pines and down past Blidworth to ravenshead and back to Mansfield. Record 170 miles in a week for me on strava. Defo need a new rear tyre.
Internet (H 1700 SPLINE 27.5 - 30 mm IS 12/148 mm Sram | DT Swiss) tells me it should be this one: DT SWISS RATCHET VTT Freehub Body Hybrid Shimano HG #HWRABXWSS2357S - Probikeshop.
Honestly i can see why they spec them with the halo style products but the reality of it that i don't mind...
The back tyre has mainly been getting torn to pieces by riding on roads/cycle paths, downsides of it being a very soft compound, the front is almost pristine in comparison since it has no real load on it. The brake pads have been getting a good seeing too mostly from much more gravity based...
Something i was trying to keep track of was how often i am replacing parts
So far at 618 miles i've gone through 2 chains (well replaced one 300 miles ago), 2 sets of rear brake pads and 1 front set. Rear tyre is looking pretty worse for wear in the middle.
Looking like swapping onto the 3rd...
I need to sort the lower mud guard. I have a good excuse now to clean it all up and sort it tomorrow as the cable ties gave way on the mudhugger today after flying down some stairs. The gap between the two was allowing so much crap to settle on the lower pivot.
Failure to disclose :D
I'm running a volspeed 3 speed box which means when i'm on the flat/down i'm running in ECO and only using tour/turbo when i need the extra help. The really muddy trails won't have helped the range much. Not hitting a solid wall at 15.5 has made it feel like pedalling a...
