Interesting... Was that with the crappy bontager tyres or real tyres? What is your preference, what bike do you own now & how do you find it different?
Yes & no Mteam. I ended up taking my lowers to the shop as getting the seals in without the proper tool or prior experience was pretty hard - 2 minute job for them & pretty easy to damage
You may even get more than retail price from someone not wanting to wait for who knows how long. My wifes bike was ordered in Nov & turned up this week. We were told maybe June but not to take our names off the list & buy elsewhere as this shipment of bikes were due mid last year.
Both of my derailleurs (XT & SLX) looked exactly like the one above. I was under the impression that the hanger was the designed weak point to save costly derailleur replacements
Until this year I've prob broken one derailleur in 30 years mtbing. I've broken 2 in the last couple of months.
Is it bad luck or are they getting crappier? The breaks look almost identical.
I take it you are waiting on a battery? Is there a freight forwarding company you could use in the Eu to send it over to you there? Thats what we do in our country to get things that aren't available in our region.
Where did you hear the supply had been pushed back from? We're waiting on a E160 700 here in NZ (assume same agent for both countries)& sposed to be in Dec now April. I'm just wondering if it too is pushed back?
Actually that poses a very good question to myself - since I have changed everything on the bike bar the brakes (including the colour) why do I actually like the Rail? I guess it's because it can handle the really gnarly tracks pretty well & not do anything badly. It was also about bang for buck...
It seems to me that you have done more research than a lot of us here on the forum would have done. There is no right or wrong answer. There is no best bike or even a bad bike (if you stick to the main brands)
Ride them all if you can but one of them will stand out. I even suspect you have made...
I'm a sceptical kinda guy myself when it comes to the latest & greatest sometimes & in fact years ago got myself out of favour with my motocycle forum after doing some very basic experiments & calling BS on a new fangled suspension gizmo which I'd spent good money on. Anyway I'd recommend you...
Thats the immediate impression I got with my upgrade riding along my gravel driveway. Out on the trails the difference was huge. Heaps of plushness & great to have the ability to open up the LSC for the easy-on- the-wrists cruising & then dial up the HSC for the trails that need it.
I'm a...
Now, without disrespect to you or other Spez riders, this is what I can't understand.
I'm pissed off with Trek just because of their stupid knockblock headset (which took me 5 minutes to rectify) yet guys will spend thousands of dollars with a company that repeatedly sells them bikes with major...
@Rob Rides EMTB
Just watched your review on this bike. Usually I'm a bit meh with reviews however this one was very very good. Outstanding video work - give your cameraman a raise!
Good God Man I think you're talking sense there. I am going to put that to the test on the next ride.
The only problem with your solution is that for me, riding faster is not a priority but keeping the speed within my zone of reactionability is.
