    Biggest rear rotor for Rail?

Yes I thought I might be onto a winner with these as they're coming from a respectable brand store until I read the review of the formula hubs https://www.commencal-store.co.nz/-e13-lg1-dh-formula-wheelset-enduro-275-c2x30713990

    Biggest rear rotor for Rail?

Jeez your google fu is far superior to mine. I've already pulled the trigger on the other discs. Can you find me a rear wheel now please;)

    Rail Mullet

I tried with my Giant rear wheel along the driveway & there's a 40mm difference in the tyre size but not sure how it goes with the mino link in high position. Maybe I'll swap the magnet over & have a test ride. Only problem is the Giant has a 11speed cassette so might be abit of graunching...

    Biggest rear rotor for Rail?

Thats a great price - most of the ones I saw were about $50.00. I will match them up with these rotors - also the cheapest I found https://www.thehubcyclecentre.co.nz/products/brakerotorsram160mmcentreline?variant=32719615098957 It seems going down the mullet path that getting my hub rebuilt as...

    Biggest rear rotor for Rail?

Thanks for your replies. We don't get a lot of Magura over here - they are just starting to slowly filter in. Can't get any galfer discs either.

    Biggest rear rotor for Rail?

Thos of you who have gone to 220mm, Can I just buy a 20mm adaptor & add it on to the existing adaptor to bring it out to match or do I need to get a 43mm one? 2020 Yari 35mm forks. It also seems that most of the available rear wheels have centrelock hubs. Has anyone found a way around this re...

    Motobecane M600 XL quick review

I've not heard of this brand before. From your description they seem to be a more economical alternative to the mainstream brands?

The loser of the test: Trek Rail 9.9.

Yes Giant is my usual default due to bang for buck & that's what I forgot to suggest to torabora851. The other bike I'd be keen on is the new Reign. I reckon it'll be a contender for BOTY & great specs for the price

The loser of the test: Trek Rail 9.9.

I would go for the Rail on those tracks. They are really flowy. The Merida works for me on really steep, tight, make it or crap yourself off camber drop corners. The rail will kinda plough through a lot of that big rock stuff but is also surprisingly nimble although with more input from the...

The loser of the test: Trek Rail 9.9.

Battery range isn't really a factor for me as most of my rides are only 10-14kms & in fact would prefer if batteries were sold in 200kwh cells so you could mix & match depending on the day. I do however notice the lack of Bosch 'boost' (I prefer to call it motor overrun) on the shimano. As the...

The loser of the test: Trek Rail 9.9.

We have a L rail 7 & L Merida E160 -700. The rail feels more reach to the bars whereas the Merida is slightly more upright. I'm 182 6ft-ish but my wife is shorter but with a longer body so both fit her well too. I don't notice the difference too much in riding position while riding uphill...

    Rail Mullet

OK any long term feedback? You guys that changed to mullet still loving it? After riding my wifes new mullet bike I'm pretty set on changing mine now. Be interested to hear any downsides.

    Minimizing pedal strikes?

Be interesting to see if there is any corelation between pedal strikes & model bikes. I might have one strike a ride on my Rail but had about 4-5 on my wifes Merida E160 yesterday. I'd say the sag was a bit more on the rear shock but didn't think it would matter that much. Obviously if i am...

    Official Merida eOne-Sixty thread

I shouldn't have ridden my wifes new E160-700. It was too good, she might not get it back. I have renamed my Rail 'The whale' as it handles like a slug in comparison. I really like the mullet setup it turns in so well in the techy bits. I was pretty pleased with the Z1's as well - not as good...

Rail seat location too far forward?

The knock block is there tp stop your forks from hitting the frame. If you have a large I'd say that your forks would spin under the frame & not hit it. In that case you could do what I did - initially bought another non KB stem & dremel out some recesses to fit the bits on the KB spacers or...

    Trek Rail Upgrades

If you have a look down the forum list you'll see many many threads re fork upgrades & which rear shock will fit. These forums are almost exclusively about upgrades or problems with bikes. Start using by the search function which looks like a magnifying glass at the top of the screen. Put on...

The loser of the test: Trek Rail 9.9.

Interesting. I just got the wife an E160 - 700 & am pretty impressed with it. I've only ridden it a few times for 5 minutes & not in anger yet but felt it was a lot more 'twitchy' than the rail & somewhat less stable. Since then however, whenever I ride my Rail it feels very sluggish turning &...

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

I just got my Jadex serviced. They replaced almost most of the parts under warranty. Rebound was bent/broken, shaft replaced as shims rubbed anodising off, shims removed, bladder replaced & something was broken inside that made my lockout not work. If it was out of warranty I'd have been very...

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

170 38s are a fairly recent mainstream item - only a year or so. For many years 150 were seen as heaps of front suspension then 160 was deemed more desirable & now of course 170 is the goal. We all want the newest & bestest. It's not really about the size of the hill that dictates what length...
