I bought an ordinary socket for my Fox 38 for a few pounds and ground it flat with a hand-held grinder. I was surprised how quick it was to do. Then I smoothed if off on some Emery cloth (but any 180-grit abrasive will do).
Lay the emery cloth on a flat hard surface and then rub the socket...
No responses so far. I'll have a go.
I have never tried it, so take that into account.
The main problem could be whether the chain will roll through the jockies. I am pretty sure that 12-speed chain is narrower than 11-speed, but I have never measured it to find out.
The mech will move in the...
@TommyC I can recommend Trailvision for bearings. They specialise in bearings for bikes and have taken extra steps to ensure fitness for purpose. They remain competitive and also deliver quickly. The website is helpful in many ways.

Well, they do that on everything else, so what is stopping them? Probably because there are no insane profit margins.
The bike industry is still struggling to get over the aftermath of the pandemic. It induced a famine and feast situation and it may cycle through once more before it stabilises...
To measure your own sit-bone width start with some corrugated cardboard. The thicker and coarser the better, but even the micro flute will work.
If you have a wooden chair, then great, otherwise find a flattish surface to sit on so that your feet are flat on the floor. If the seat is high put a...
@bulek As brilliant as those guys are, they only fix the motor. They can't fix anything that is on the bike.
I do not have a Giant, so take that into account on the rest of this post.
Check for loose connections into the display unit, in fact to anywhere that you can reach without dismantling...
Make sure that the pedals are not touching anything when you switch on the bike. I'm pretty sure that the E010 error is to do with the torque sensor. Pressure on the pedals when switching on means that there is torque on the motor at the start, which is a no-no.
I don't have an e8000 anymore...
100% agree with every single thing that @Mikerb said. :)(y)
Additionally, I would recommend that the bike be stored with the tyre valves at the 5 or 7 o'clock position. This allows the sealant to slide out into the bottom of the tyre.
But even doing all of this, I do need to replace the Presta...
@electricbogaloo I was out at the weekend and I purposely listened out for "the rattle" on bumpy descents, not pedalling. All I could hear was the hub buzzing.
I suppose that you have tried Mr Google?
How about ChatGPT? He's good. Just provide as much info as you have and tell it what you want. Don't give up at the first response, keep asking. Develop the conversation.

The only snag with the above version is that it's in...
Rutland Cycles in the UK will deal with warranty claims on any bike that they stock. But if you didn't buy it from them, they charge a standard £35 (might be more now). This compensates them for all the admin, wasted telephone calls chasing people up etc. No such charge if it's a big item like a...
