You guys are lucky!

They installed a rattle on your snakes to let you know where they are

Ours donā€™t come with a warning
Our rattle snakes donā€™t always rattle. They do strike without warning, but I am definitely glad I am not in your shoes. The eastern US does have Coral Snakes and Cottonmouth Snakes that donā€™t rattle. I do not like snakes, they freak me out more than anything else on our trails. Itā€™s the season for them, March through early October.

Rattle Snakes? Pah, nothing compared to cattle bell cows in the Alps! In most cases these even donā€˜t have to coil up. You come around a corner and up you go. šŸ˜‚

Just kiddingā€¦.

Beautifull area! šŸ˜ When I was a kid I had such a turtle. But donā€˜t do this in other countries if not sure about the species. I nearly grabbed about such size of a snapper turtle in US to put here aside from the road. Luckily there was a local guy that hold me back from grabbing her, kicked her with a stick when she suddenly snapped unbelieveable fast with a long neck to the back of her shell. šŸ˜®

First ride of the year! šŸ˜² To be fair, I've been ill and had some family issues to deal with (and the weather has been sh1t)...

Just a loosener on The Green Hornet to see how much fitness I'd lost. As it turns out not too much, thankfully.

Was expecting a slop fest so took the Merida but happily, apart from a few really sloppy and/or wet bits, its was OK, if a little cool - only 8C.

Did a couple of loops around Jubilee/Darwen Tower. Only just over 11 miles but 1750ft and nearly 900Cals...

Same location facing back to Winter Hill and its transmitters in the distance...

Pictures of fixes that shouldn't have worked but did.

About a third of the way into our ride Wes cracked a rim on my lender bike and it wouldn't hold air anymore. While I laughed at him he proceed to wrap the area in electrical tape, threw on a couple zip ties and somehow we finished the ride and only had to stop to top off the tire twice...

Rim separated at the seam from an impact btw.

While waiting for my Levo SL, which is on a maintenance visit with my LBS, I went for a quick ride in between yesterday's rain showers with my "winter project". It's amazing, how good a vintage MTB like this 1992 Schauff hardtail can feel after receiving some fresh parts like wider handle bars, a new fork, etc.). I still wouldn't take it to rough trails, but it's fine for 80% of the everyday stuff.

That and the perimerer trip wire and claymore mines . .
Steady on Tim its only a bike haha. Seriously I don't normally do that but that road i parked beside would not see cars in the middle of the night. There are still a lot of people round my area who's doors are left unlocked when the go out keys left in cars . If you go to some places there's kayaks and things like that just lie beside the waterside. Just like the good old days.
